Leon put together a helluva band: Jim Gordon and Jim Keltner on drums, Carl Radle on bass, Don Preston on guitar, Bobby Keys and Jim Horn on saxophones, Chris Stainton (from the Grease Band) and the great vocal ensemble. You can't put together that lineup of names today

Cool man. Thanks for pulling that all together for me. I remember seeing the film in the theatre with ‘4 channel’ sound many, many years ago - and never quite go over it. I bought the album (double I think) and stripped the vinyl down to nothing from overplaying but it I confess that I haven’t heard this in decades - Where the heck have I been? Dunno… Thanks very much!

The whole hookup between Leon and Delaney & Bonnie and Eric, George and all the British rockers in '69'-'71 is one of the greatest, most musically fertile eras in rock history, not only for the music, but also for the drama. Delaney & Bonnie & Friends on Tour with Eric Clapton, EC's first solo album, George's All Things Must Pass, Dave Mason's "Alone Together," Mad Dogs, Derek & The Dominos...volumes upon volumes have been written.

SOOO still it was an immaculate performance! Looking at Joe then the ballerina. Not knowing what was happening next. Coliseum again. Filled with smoke. All of us, all kinds of us, shoulder to shoulder watching watching. Taking the words in. Had major crush on Leon Russell. Man. Could he make those keys dance! Holy Jesus these were God Given Talents right in front of us. Mind bending alterations that opened us up. Transformed our minds. Opened our heads. A new period of life was well in swing! 🎉🎉
