But his CIA buddy has a much darker much brutal approach and appeals to his darker "sup" side. So know, I don't know that, but if I see rain and lightning you don't have to be a genius to know that thunder is around the corner.

Only me that thinks it’s too obvious that he’s not real and the real twist is going to be that he is real, calling it now butcher will think he’s not real only to find out he is infact real at a major moment, Kessler may even use the fact butcher doesn’t trust his own sense to his advantage. @@Vel0city_was_here yeah I was expecting a scene like this but was hoping they would do like a double twist and it ends up being a manipulation, the shot of the hostage looking at him by himself kinda ruins that idea a wee bit though unless I’m missing something. Pretty lame if that’s all it was leading upto as it was an easy guess from the first episode. The reveal came pretty early though so hopefully it is going to lead to something more

Think about it this way. Gen V showed us how a hallucination would work in this verse. The hallucination will know everything the person having it will. Plus he's acting just like butcher. Is it just me or is anybody else wondering about the consistency of Butcher's affliction. Starlight said the lab data concluded using too much temp V turns your brain into swiss cheese (by that im assuming lesions), then they mention several times its cancer i.e; tumors, but then when Homelander looks at him with his X-ray he calls it "a swirling black mass wrapped around his brain" which infers its the temp V tentacle thing latching itself to his brain

Quite a unique power to get for butcher using permanent V. Having your conscience talking to you is probably unheard of in the sup world. This is like the first positive V injection ever made instead of turning everybody in jerks. Maybe if he gets control of it like Starlight learned her true potential. It would be an amazing final showdown waiting for us last season. Truly, the problem always was in butchers soul, not his brain or heart. I hope this show ends on a good note with hope. The world has fallen into to shit and I dont want more of it on my screen. To be honest, seeing butcher be nice was really heartwarming this season.

The comic and the show seem to have swapped Butcher and Homelander's quality of development. Anthony Starr's potrayal is superb, but the direction they take Butcher in is all wrong, imo. Butcher was so singlemindedly fixated on eradictating every trace of V from the planet that he was willing to kill millions, and his lack of change was what made him terrifying. Loved that version.
