His defence of the IDF looks even more stupid now since the 972 magazine article came out explaining how the IDF used AIs to not only generate kill lists for them based on questionable scoring systems for every person in Gaza but also to let the IDF know when the targets were at home so they could wipe out their families. The collateral damage even for what they deemed as low level targets was 20 non-combatants, and up to 100 for what they considered high level targets.

@@nickpr5964 I wouldnt say dissapointing, I'd say its reasonable, we were born into seeing israel as these pure allies that deserved protection due to WW2. It's hard to see any criticism against them in a good light just from that. Whether you agree or disagree with that point you also have to look at how Jews are looked at in current media and the weird frenzy against them. It's a very hard to balance issue because yes there are many major powerful figures that are jewish and causing what looks like to be damage to society and especially western society, but its also some of our enemies that are supporting the attack on them, very weird to find the truth among all that.

He's a damn hypocrite on Israel. He pushed back on 30,000 Palestinian civilians killed but not on the 1,200 Israeli civilians part which includes hundreds of Israeli military casualties. He also ignores that 30,000 Palestinians killed is an underestimation since it doesn't include many Palestinian civilians that are lying dead beneath the rubble. He's the typical ignorant person who hasn't studied the matter.
@rosemaryalles6043
@rosemaryalles6043 Ай бұрын
@@u.2b215 Of the 1200+ civilians killed on Oct 7th, hardly any were military personnel. Many were women, who were raped, kidnapped and still remain in Gaza (being sexually assaulted) as hostages. Some are Americans. We can be deeply compassionate toward all who suffer (Israelis and Palestinians) without fabricating "facts". Blessings.
@u.2b215
@u.2b215 Ай бұрын
@@rosemaryalles6043 Combatants are not civilians and the latest figures according to Israeli sources is 1,139 killed of whom 382 were military personnel, 59 were police and 10 were Shin bet. And that's not even taking into account any armed civilian Israelis who joined them and got killed and who according to international law are considered combatants. So you're lying that hardly any were military/combatants. And your other claims are without evidence so before telling someone about fabricating facts practice what you preach.
@rosemaryalles6043
@rosemaryalles6043 Ай бұрын
@@u.2b215 Please provide a reliable source for your claim. Let's analyze your claim (which is unsubstantied) If (conceding for the moment that you are correct - I doubt you are): 382+ of 1139 were combatants, that ratio is: 33%. 3:1 civilians to military ratio. According to Hamas' own figures ~32K Gazans have died since Oct 7. Of those, close to 13K are Hamas terrorists. What ratio is that? That's close to 1:1. Which is better? If you are advocating for a proportional response (which I don't - this is a war, and as Coleman correctly indicates, war is ugly) should the IDF burn babies and rape women? Also, the attack on Oct 7th remains (and will always remain) unprovoked - there is no historical context that justified raping women and burning babies. None. The Palestinian people deserve to live with basic comforts and peace. As of today more than 75% of Gazas population support the rapist terror regime Hamas. This population must be de-radicalized if there's to be any hope of a 2 state solution. Maybe Hamas can start by returning the hostages (including my fellow Americans who were abducted) and stop shelling rockets into Israel everyday. The Cvil Rights Act wasn't won through violence, it was won through strategic, non-violent action. Yeah, we should all practice what we preach.

The reality is these things no longer occurred in a state controlled media vacuum. Like it or not the world is literally watching.

i haven't gotten to that point in the video yet, but I gotta ask... what makes what Israel is doing heartless? they're defending their country and their people.. they're dropping leaflets and sending out warning texts to try to warn innocent people to flee the area before attacks. they're sending water and humanitarian aid. that kinda stuff is unheard of in war.. i agree that far too many innocent people have died, and it's tragic to see the loss of innocent lives on both sides.. but only one side is actually trying to spare innocent lives. and what else can they do? do they just walk away and let Hamas get away with it because Hamas hides behind their civilians like rats in underground tunnels? could they change their tactics to less bombs and more direct attacks? sure, I can agree with that. but other than that, I don't get how folks can be so against Israel. and hey, I have no connection to Israel. i just don't, can't, and won't ever support Hamas. the main Hamas leaders sit in their cushy living arrangements in other countries. they steal the humanitarian aid from their people. they brainwash their children to want to will Jewish people. it's so warped dude. Those are heavily influenced by the Israeli hasbara propaganda and you will find the same stuff on Times of israel, Ynet, jpost...etc Israel has actively been blocking aid from entering Gaza and only recently opened routes when they bombed those aid workers a week or so ago due to pressure from western leaders. Think deeply and really ask yourself if this is at all about the "hostages" or "hamas". They even killed three hostages waiving white flags speaking hebrew! His ass. The 972 magazine article that came out the other day basically refutes everything he said. The IDF used an AI called Lavender to select what were deemed viable targets based on surveillance criteria such as social media etc to generate scoring profiles to gauge whether people were likely Hamas and draw up kill lists, and another AI to then notify the IDF when the targets were at home so they could be bombed . Even for what were deemed low level assets it was considered acceptable to kill up to 20 civilians and up to 100 for high-level targets. I wish I was joking about this, but sadly it is chillingly true. This whole 'minimizing casualties' thing is patently false.

I have family who survived the Armenian Genocide. How do such atrocities happen? By creating us and them. We need to look at each other as fellow human beings before anything else. To create such divisions, creates an environment where your neighbors may no longer be human to you because they are a “them” and it’s easy to harm someone you barely consider human. Coleman Hughes is proven correct on this issue to anyone who looks at history. It was the same for The Holocaust, slavery, Rwandan Genocide, Spanish Inquisition, etc, etc. We should only see each other as fellow human beings or you create a dangerous environment. Even if you go back to the origin of the Israel/Palestine conflict, it was 2 different peoples with different faiths who saw each other as less, as a them. If they saw each other as just people, they’d probably live together as neighbors by now. Stop creating the environment for atrocities to happen. The actual conflict wasn’t started by either group but by external nations (Ottomans, Nazi Germany, France, England), they chose to see each other as different and it’s not going well.

Jews don’t see Arabs as “less than” there’s about two million in Israel with not only full equal rights but they are in the Knesset, on the Supreme Court and some of the wealthiest business owners. There’s no “Palestinian” ethnicity, it’s a name the PLO came up with for political expidency to describe the refugees of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan whose parents and grandparents may or may not have lived in Mandate Palestine pre-1947. They are not remotely indigenous to the land, they invaded and colonized the peninsula in the 7th century and lived under the Romans and the Macedonians before about 1,000 years of different Muslim empires, all of which had zero concept of Palestinian nationalism or any desire to create either an independent Palestinian state or declare Jerusalem as their capital.
@NYmomAdrienne3915
@NYmomAdrienne3915 Ай бұрын
@@MarkG-nl4oq i never said “less than” but you both look at each other as a different type of people. I understand there is insanely complicated history to this conflict. There was a time though, when if you both accepted that you were both human beings who happen to have different faiths, perhaps we would not be here. Things are now complicated by events, but there was a point where it was possible to live as neighbors of different faiths. The region was run by the Ottomans and after WWI divided up by France and Britain. That’s when problems started and it actually happened due to neither party’s fault at that juncture. That is when it would have had to have happened. If you keep going back in history, then a big portion of Turkey belongs back with Armenia. That would keep everyone fighting with each other. I am honest enough to say I am not fully educated on all the history, but there was a time before all this, when you both could have been peaceful neighbors with different faiths. I do understand why that is different today. In this particular conflict, Hamas definitely started the aggression in my opinion. Eventually I hope that somehow you can live together peacefully, for your children’s sake. I do understand as I live in the US and I do understand self preservation and if forced due to self preservation, I would side with Israel as I know most Palestinians don’t see Americans as humans and would be fine with killing us as well. I survived the 9/11 attacks on the trade center and remember very well how the Palestinians celebrated my friends and colleagues deaths simply because we were non-human Americans . I would think you would realize that someone with Armenian family does understand what Islamist Extremists actually believe and am aware it’s as medieval as The Spanish Inquisition. I do know that the extremist, like Hamas, believe that they will be rewarded by Allah for killing us infidels and they believe the same will happen for their fellow Muslims if they die in the conflict which is why they aren’t hesitant to put their civilians at risk. The conflict they have with Armenia holds similar concepts and beliefs. They don’t really see Armenians as fellow humans either. If somehow people were able to change their mentalities and realize we are just human with different religions, neither Armenia nor Israel would be in a consistent state of war. Hamas is undoubtedly an extremist group. Because of the dogma of the extremists, neither of us is human, just infidels. I do understand that very well. But proving my point, if we were human to them, these conflicts would likely end. I completely agree that civilians should never be the target of any attack. We don’t always even with our government that they hate. For example, I never thought we should invade Iraq, I knew Saddam Hussein was secular and wouldn’t be intertwined with religious extremists, he had always seen them as threat in reality. He wasn’t a good person and not an ally; but certainly wasn’t involved with religious extremism. Attacking civilians directly is always wrong.

@@zacharys9874 okay, let's follow your assumption and say all 138 countries which voted for Palestine to become an observer state at the UN have lapse judgement because they don't have a fit system of government according to western standards. This would be a project in itself to prove all 138 countries are indeed politically corrupt (lol as if the US isn't, when you have Democrat politicians like Donna Brazile admit on television that they fixed the Democratic primary against Bernie Sanders in 2016, and the extensive use of the corporately owned and sponsored press like the Washington Post, literally owned by Bezos). But I digress. Yet, Time magazine is one of the only western media outlets that did an international poll on the current conflict (date of article JANUARY 17, 2024 12:22 PM EST). You'll see that in some western adjacent countries there existed a steep decline in Israel's favorability rating. To this end, are we to assume that the rest of the world, especially the third world, follows a different trend in favorability of Israel? Also, what indicators do you use to gauge the opinion of the world populace on the israel-palestine conflict aside from UN General Assembly votes which frequently from 1967 vote in favor of Palestinian sovereignty by a wide majority?

Once you do that, it makes it out to be just like any war with an “end-justifies-the-means” objective (War on Teror vis-a-vis Iraq), and justifies all their war crime and mass slaughter and genocide. However, he conveniently leaves out how the Israeli public officials, who have been on Israeli TV have been using genocidal language. Also, it’s interesting he can travel all way to see the kibbutzim (ala Elon Musk style) and yet has no clue (other than photos and videos on the internet) of what the ground reality is for Gazans… It can be seen that he calmly challenged Joe’s position on the issue and thinks he corrected Joe, but his cognitive dissonance is very very stark and down right disturbing. No wonder Norman called him what he called him 😂

I am really disappointed by Rogan's comment to that response by Coleman. "I appreciate your perspective" is just his way of saying "Nice speech, but you didn't convince me". Which is really sad because he clearly has no counter argument, which is why he changed the topic and didn't argue it any further. So Rogan realizes he has no counter argument to his point about Hamas, but still refuses to change his perspective. It's very sad to see because Rogan usually prides himself on being fact based rather than feelings based, but his opinion on the "genocide" is purely feelings based.

I got worked so hard playing tennis once. My cousin and I were both staying in park city for the summer so we played tennis at the town center often. We had been playing regularly for a few weeks and thought we were getting pretty good. One day, we see some similarly-aged kids so we challenge them to a match. We got smoked SO bad we never even returned a serve. We literally didn’t score a single point on them. I had never been beaten so bad at anything in my life! After the ass whooping, we went inside to grab some drinks and lick our wounds. As I was walking around the club house, I noticed some trophy’s and photos. Sure enough, there was a photo of the two kids we just lost to next to a trophy - they had won the national tournament in tennis doubles. We laughed so hard and learned a valuable lesson that day.

The real fear is that we are at a place where the “deep state” or bureaucratic edifice is so entrenched and corrupt that actual reform is beyond the reach of well meaning legislators, who eventually get swallowed up by the very system that they aimed to change. That and the danger than anyone that is a reasonable person that is an actual threat to the status quo can be compromised by simply essentially blackmailing them with something in their personal lives or even internet search history, online comments, etc. that is easily attainable by those that desire to procure such information.

People make the huge error of assuming that the vast majority of Gaza is comprised of innocent people who want nothing to do with this conflict in the way we think of innocent people in the West. 70ish % of Gaza voted for the Hamas regime in 2005 and if the polling is to be believed would do so again now in Gaza and the West Bank. It takes about 18 years to manufacture a sociopath and population that encourages martyrdom. Not to mention a huge portion of them dress like civilians and embed themselves amongst the population, and can fire ordinance at Israelis from those locations. Many of those locations have entrances and exits to the miles-long terror tunnels (thanks to our taxpayer money and other Western nations I might add). The population of Gaza in large part is responsible for their own destruction and here almost no one talk about that reality. 100% of the blood spilled in this conflict is on Hamas and Hamas only. All war crimes are on Hamas 1) Attacked Israel and committed a real genocide and the only one 2) Took hostages and did unspeakable things to them 3) By attacking Israel they (Hamas) new it would bring the wrath of Israel's response and intended to have their own people in harm's way as a tool of war. These sides couldn't be more opposite in terms of morality and (Israel) is the good side. Stop morally relativising these two sides to share in the blame. Doing so makes you morally inept and proves an error in your compass.
