Ryan Moore damn ... she would of been even more of a force. Arguably much more
@Kimuraking5 жыл бұрын
@@Penny-wl1ui Arguably? No. Easily? Yes. Edmond is 100% the reason for her downfall. Her striking has always been garbage, And he gave her way too much false confidence In her striking. She has amatuer striking AT BEST and thought she could beat floyd at boxing🤣. Guys like firas are always trying to make the fighter better. When he couldn't make George's movements more fluid, he made george get a gymnastics coach. When he couldn't improve George's hands anymore, they brought in world renowned boxing coach Freddie roach to do so. Edmond thought he was the real deal. The whole package for Ronda. He never changed her game plan, and Hardly improved her striking. And since travis brown switched to Edmond Taverdyans gym he went from 16 wins and 1 loss, to 18 wins and 7 losses. This is a guy who KO'D Stefan struve, Gabriel Gonzaga, Alistar overeem and Josh Barnett! And the instant he switched gyms hes been on a very steady decline. It's easy to say if Ronda had been with firas, She would have been FAR better off.

As a long time GSP fan, this explains so much about the Dan Hardy fight. It was always his most uncharacteristic fight for me, that I had trouble defending his performance as a fan, but this now makes perfect sense. Never would have thought it was because his chin got cracked so hard in training he had to protect it at all costs
@ajbahus3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Dan is so mentally strong and confident that I think GSP would’ve been in trouble had he stood with him. Instead he put on a grappling clinic and came out unscathed.
@Dukeflyhawker3 жыл бұрын
@@ajbahus Well, for the little time they were on their feet, Georges was easily winning stand up battle too, but in light of the back story, Hardy was definitely a high risk to eventually land something, even small that could have ended George's night. At the time, I thought maybe they're good buddies and Georges knew how overmatched Dan was and didn't want to destroy and humilate him, so he went in to work on his BJJ game instead and avoid smashing his face to bits, and at the same time try to sell it like Dan was more of an elite challenger than he really was.

@chrisdownum10345 жыл бұрын
@@EVO6- if Demien Maia only trained jiu jitsu & no striking he wouldn't be nearly as good, would get hit alot more & wouldn't get nearly as many takedowns. His striking for mma is actually really effective for his style. Striking in mma is not the same as striking in other sports, striking in mma is solely about how much better it makes you overall. Dan henderson's striking is really good in mma, but in boxing or kickboxing he really sucks.
@chrisdownum10345 жыл бұрын
Imagine Randy Couture boxing against Deontay Wilder.... ouch, right. Now have then stand up together in mma, I dont think Deontay would land shit, nor would couture, but that outcome is because of coutures mma striking.
@EVO6-5 жыл бұрын
@@chrisdownum1034 why are you going on this absolute rant because I said demian Maia's striking COACH doesn't matter. Not his ABILITY to strike. It's just that any coach could train what he uses. Actually read the comments thanks

he definitely got the idea from Freddie Roach. Freddie Roach was notorious on doing that in every Manny Pacquiao's sparring session which he revealed back in 2018 if my memory serves me right and GSP was training with Freddie Roach since around 2008-2009. Freddie was offering Manny Pacquiao's sparring partner a 1000 bucks if they knocked Manny down which never happened in his life. Firas definitely learned it from Freddie.

People need to understand that not everyone is a bodybuilder looking for more muscle size. This is Firas Zahabi, a MMA coach, whose trained GSP. The principal he’s explaining, isn’t designed to optimize lat muscle growth. He’s training professional MMA athletes, who should not be training in a way that has them sore all week. This would take away their ability to train martial arts optimally.
