It’s kinda funny , I live in Florida and know a lot of people who practice Santeria. But, I was always taught not to talk about it. I know what’s up. But we don’t talk about it here. If I see someone all in white I’ll give a nod, but that it. Don’t talk about it if u don’t practice it.. it’s just how I was raised

Probably the healthiest and most respectful posture. Joey just talked a lot of shit about Santeria without knowing ANYTHING of it. He knows some "disjointed" snippets of popular FOLKLORE of the faith but proceeds to just absolutely SHIT on the faith with his ignorance. I couldn't hear anymore.

@@o.m.8936 If you’re an aleyo with no Cuban ties expect to pay a LOT of money. If you want to be apart of it for negative self fulfilling purposes forget it you’ve already lost favour, people die for that. You need to understand what you’re getting yourself into. It’s not for the faint of heart and it’s not something you can just jump into. Go in expecting to sleep on the floor for year and sacrifice animals for your Orisha. Your personal life will be impacted personally and financially for the rest of your life. You will do what you’re told. If they say you can’t have sex for 6 months you don’t do it. There is no one foot in. it’s a beautiful religion but there is a reason it survived genocide and slavery.

I've noticed skeptics get nervous and laugh the more they hear, like they're afraid of being enticed into something they want to reject but are curious to explore... Anyone who hasn't chosen to explore their spirituality or religious side and then consciously chosen their path at some point always seems stunted maturity wise to me. But that is their choice in this life.

As someone who believes that angels and demons and other spirits exist, my only piece of advice is be very careful what you open yourself up to… I also can’t help but draw a connection between this clip and another from the same interview where Joey talks about the debauchery in pre Castro Cuba and how he mentions that a Cuban woman told him Cuba is being punished by god for what went on. Again, it all comes back to what you open yourself up to and let in. Those things have a ways of manifesting themselves
