That's true but Steve spent 20 years touring with Deep Purple, almost 2 hours shows, a lot more shows than Dimeola and Mclaughlin.

I'm not so sure about that, however, I do know that since at least the early 1980s Di Meola and McLaughlin employ stretch and strengthen exercises to prevent and alleviate some of the painful symptoms associated with repetitive stress injuries to wrists, forearms, and fingers.

No doubt about it. The fact that he practices like a mad man (he said in an interview that he's had his #1 refretted like 10 times just from wear on the frets and that's not even the guitar he practices with) coupled with his picking style - he's a lefty playing righty which is why (I think) he holds the pick like he does - and you've got a recipe for wrist wear.

Plus, if you listen to him play an electric w/o an amp you can hear how HARD his pick attack is. Bet that doesn't help.

Everybody has a different opinion about it. I was watching a video with Frank Marino of Mahogany Rush and he seems to think differently about it. But I can understand why Steve doesn't like it It is what it is and it isn't going to revert back to the way it was. It is the reason why Concerts are so expensive now, that is because artists don't make much (if any) off albums. But as the listener i like it because I can access any band from any time period right at my fingertips

rbagel55 - I agree with everything you're saying. As I said above, I can't stand ANY scumbag who would make MONEY from someone else's work. On the other hand, personally, I don't see Morse losing money because I want some bootlegs of his concerts. It's still not same as seeing him live and I'm STILL going to buy ANYTHING he puts out. I want any and all material I can get by him. I wish he'd put out a SMB album every few months, but that's not going to happen. I'm not sure if we mean the same thing by "bootleg". I'm talking about a guy who goes and records a live show and puts it up on the internet for folks to see. NOT a guy who rips a CD and makes that available. I"m TOTALLY against that. To me, that is stealing. I don't think artists are losing too much money from guys making crappy bootleg recordings of their concerts and making them available on the internet. If they are, I would get it's a REALLY small number. Now, are folks losing money because of the MP3 culture and the fact that you can search pirate bay (or fill in your favorite torrent site here)? You bet they are. If THAT's what you are talking about, then yes, I agree. That's why concerts are more expensive. The artists I listen to (like Morse) are never more than about $25.00 bucks anyway. Always have been, always will be. I also think it's why bands are having to do all these "meet and greet" and "fantasy camps" to make money these days - coz album sales sure aren't going to do it. For guys like Morse, they never really did anyway. I just never understood why he would care if some dude stood up there and taped their shows and made them available for other folks to listen to for free. I figured he'd be the type of guy who would encourage that. I'm not slamming him, I"m a huge fan of his. I just don't get that about him, but everyone has their reasons and a right to their opinion on the matter. Now, if Deep Purple would ever FINALLY just hang it up so Steve could get out and tour with a real band (his band) I'd be a happy man.
