Finally got one of those "hog mollies" that Gettleman always talked about and never delivered in Evan Neal, dude is a beast at 6'7 340 lbs, and NFL ready coming from Alabama. Love the pick, and Thibodeaux has the potential to be very special. Rebuilding the team in the trenches, the way it should have been done a long time ago.

The Jets took Sauce who likely would have been in play but the draft couldn’t have played out any better for us. Thibodeaux was considered the #1 pick for a while & even Neal was considered a possible first overall pick on some boards. After the Texans took Stingley, I knew things were falling our way. I was surprised they took Thibodeaux at 5 & not Ickey or Neal but they might have thought Carolina was interested. They knew they’d have one of the top tackles at 7 available though. Maybe it was just staying true to their board. Either way the draft really couldn’t have shaken out any better for us & we ended up with two Top 5 picks who were arguably the best players in the entire draft. We truly oicked the best player available at pick 5 & 7 but also ended up filling two of our most pressing needs which were right tackle & pass rush. These are arguably two of the most vital areas for winning teams also. The mantra that the games are won or lost in the trenches really holds true. While Ex-GM Dave Gettleman picked some good players like McKinney & Ojulari & professed to wanting to fix the Oline, he inexplicably ignored these two vital areas. Our Oline & pass rush were atrocious. Besides all the coaching changes & injuries, the neglect of the Oline & pass rush really led to poor play & in fact, really hindered the development of Daniel Jones. It’s an exciting time to be a Giants fan. We’ve been through a lot of coaches & bad seasons. We seem to have finally gotten a capable GM & have an exciting young head coach. Both have lots of experience & proven track records of success. They’ve come from a winning franchise where they worked together which will be beneficial to them. They obviously work well together & have a shared vision & philosophy so the collaborative aspect of all this should be a strength for them. Daboll has been a successful offensive coordinator & with new OC Kafka here, the Giants should have a much more modern offense that will certainly be more productive & explosive. Furthermore, you can be sure they will work together on a hybridized offense they create from their experiences in KC & Buffalo. I expect an offense that is tailored to our players as well which will help exploit the strengths of our players & minimize weaknesses. The past 2 years it seemed like our offense was dumbed down or vanilla at times with little thought placed on our personnel or the opponent which is just mind boggling. Anyway, the new management & coaches are exciting but it’s the players who have to execute. Nonetheless you have to be excited by the energy you can sense & feel coming from the Giants. The players are showing up even to voluntary work outs & are taking ownership by saying things like “the coaches can coach well & all, which is great but it’s up to the players to execute on the field & win.” You can already fee a culture change. The team is really coming together. We have a few holes left but we got two cornerstone players tonight in Thibodeaux & Neal. We got one of our next great pass rushers & Neal makes our Oline one of the best young Olines in the league now. The Thomas-Neal duo is gonna be hard to beat. It’s a shame a lot of our young Olinemen were hurt last year like Peart, Gates & Lemieux but I hope this is a wake up call to them. They need to work st their craft & show development & improvement. Schoen brought in a lot of Oline depth & potential starters. We will have a lot of competition now on the Oline not just for starting roles but for the back up roles. I hope the young guys see that they can’t just expect jobs or take then for granted as new guys come in every year looking to take your job. Last year ex-GM Dave Gettleman inexplicably cut our best Olineman OG Kevin Zeitler & basically told the second year players Peart, Lemieux & Gates that 3/5 of the Oline was their’s though they all had middling levels of experience. Furthermore, LT Thomas was starting his 2nd year. He basically told the young guys they had starting jobs without that much experience & little competition. It ended up being a disaster. By the end of the year as we all know it was a miracle if we could even hit triple digits in the passing game. So glad we cleaned house & started from scratch with a new GM & Head Coach. They’ve really done a lot of great things in a short time. Hell, Schoen did more to fix the Oline in about 4 months than Gettleman did in 4 years. We are moving in the right direction. They’ve assembled a top notch coaching staff too. The team is looking a lot more balanced & capable. Slowly but surely weaknesses are being erased. Now we most likely won’t win the Super Bowl this year but they are building an exciting foundation for the future. We nailed it with Schoen & Daboll & they nailed the draft with Thibodeaux & Neal. I can foresee a Super Bowl in the near future maybe versus Buffalo.😁 Wouldn’t that be something. This year though, at the very least I expect a much more capable offense that doesn’t have to worry about ending up with a net negative in the passing yards column of the box score & we will have a much more competitive team. The NFC East is going to get a lot more difficult again. Big Blue is back. We are returning to our winning ways. We aren’t going to be an easy 2 wins for the Eagles, Cowboys & Washington. No more embarrassing & pitiful loses to division rivals. Let’s Go Giants!

I’ve been a life long Giants fan and I believe this is the first time that we got the draft pick that I wanted and was truly excited for it. I’m 37 years old so I remember a ton of drafts in my lifetime so far but as I can recall I was very excited when we drafted Shockey. I really liked the Aaron Ross, Kenny Phillips, Prince Amukamara & Andrew Thomas picks, but none of them had me anywhere near as excited as I was tonight. It was so great because as I’m sure many of you guys feel, we usually take the exact opposite guy then who you wanted leading up to draft night OR 3-4 times the guy I really wanted was drafted by whichever teams were drafting one kick ahead of us. So tonight was great

Ok so I think our DE is good. I know he was the number 1 recruit and I watched him play at Oregon. The talent is there yes but idk will see could see it going either way. Does he really work hard and will put in the mental work to go along with his physical talent, who knows? I like the Tackle and watched him as well. Glad we have two book end tackles and could see us going o-line or LB tomorrow. Would like to see us add a TE and WR, throw in a CB.
