That Ducktail Spoiler looks a whole lot better than the factory spoiler. For the Cayman, I told you about the CF Ducktail I got from Rennline (Pelican Parts), but forgot to tell you it goes back 2" further than the factory piece; as measured @ centerline of the spoiler. It installs on the stock mounting structure and is fastened with the (5) T15 aluminum screws. I'm looking at the Joe Toth Front Splitter.

Quick question, in your Spoiler/Bumper removal video I think you said you removed the spoiler to remove the bumper to get to the exhaust. If the new spoiler doesn't use the rivets, how do you remove it to access the 2 bolts that secure it to the rods that lift the spoiler?

+george louie That is a great question, one that I have wondered myself… I assume I would have to pull the tape off and remove it to get to those bolts to get the rear bumper off. I’m hoping I don’t have to take it off again!

Hey Aaron, the tail looks great! Did you have the black painted or is it just the plastic? Also, how did you lay out where to paint the red, looks OEM awesome! Thanks for sharing!

How is it finished stock? Black? Does it need to be painted, even if you have a black 986?

+Greg Sekercan yes it comes all black. I think you would still want to paint it for a black car. The black part of mine is how it comes (I didn’t have the black part painted)

Hi Aaron, did the driving characteristics change after installing the ducktail? Did the noise of the wind around the car change dramatically after installation?
