There is a point of technical perfection, and there are but a few reaching that point. Joe is one of the select few players achieving a level of mastery where no one can say anyone is better. He is among the few giants, and that is all there is to it.

@@michaelkregness8338 big difference is Joe makes that guitar scream, not just talk, and not 'talk' with tygon tubing in his mouth, or any other gimmick. This man is making facial expressions instead, according to how his fingers bend the strings of that guitar! True form of the sport in my opinion Joe is a living legend!

I doubt you even know what you are talking about to say this is anywhere near perfection. Technically limited and generic and not really unique as one would actually call a master? He is overall rounded, but not peaked in any area, just a good average, but no where near a technically skilled guitar master. You reached a point where i dont even know if u are joking or just a new amateur? Anyway dont exaggerate stuff you dont know of mate no offense sorry but calm down with the exaggeration lol. You're insulting other guitar masters like this???

He just keeps on doing it... It just doesn't get much better than this... I've said this many times; In my 68 years I've seen most of the greats in music... As far as Joe goes, he's not the best I've ever seen, there is no "Best"... but I can honestly say I've never seen anyone better.

I was a roadie for many years and was working a Clapton gig at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney. Took about 15 minutes before I got bored, left, went across the road to a pub where a local blues band, The Hippos, were playing. A great night. 1990, I think it was. Anyway, I would rather see Joe than Eric.

The riff that starts at about 00:37 to 00:47....how on earth do your fingers move that fast and that accurately?? That was phenomenal!! I took my wife to see him at his last tour. She’s not a big blues fan. She just went for me. She was absolutely blown away at how great and classy Joe and his band are. So was I!! I remember this song in particular. If he comes through again we’ll definitely go see him. Pure class! Keep going strong, Joe!!

+Fred Stuckmann no doubt he is the real deal. When I saw him in San Diego a few years ago no one in the audience really knew who he was. I get kind of tired of blues critics trying to label him. He's tried so hard to be just Joe Bonamassa that he even switched from mostly playing fenders to Les Pauls. He didn't like the fact that people were comparing him to Stevie. I've been following the guy ever since 2010-2011 and he's gotten so much better in 5 years in terms of his singing, patience, and playing different licks each time. His work with Black Country Communion is also stellar. The only thing I am sad about is the fact that Kirk Hammett owns the Peter Green/Gary Moore Les Paul. I really think it would be Joe's baby for the rest of his life, but he didn't have 1.5 million. Lol I've heard people say Joe doesn't have the soul that Stevie had and can only play fast. Well if those people would watch his shows the past few years, he's clearly listened and gotten better.
@fredstuckmann
@fredstuckmann 7 жыл бұрын
I've been a fan about that long as well. I don't compare him to Stevie, they are different, but I love 'em both. I've also heard his BCC work and it is very well crafted too. My cue that he was going to be something that I should pay attention to was the fact that my blues hero, B.B. King approved of him. What other 12 year old has opened for a big act like that? Thanks for your comment & insight kamb26
@kamb26
@kamb26 7 жыл бұрын
+Fred Stuckmann your welcome sir. Imo the blues genre in the 80s and 90s was so open and welcoming due to guys like BB and Albert shepherding young talent like Stevie Joe and Gary Moore. I would've loved to have seen BB in his prime in the 70s. He seemed like such a nice and genuine person. On that note, Joe has really made me discover more blues than I had ever heard of. I started with Stevie and was blown away. When I found out that he died a month before I was born I was crushed. Then I found Joe. After that Cream became one of my favorite bands, Eric Johnson and Gary Moore became weekly listens and The discovery of Peter Green was awesome. All thanks to Joe Bonamassa. 👍 thank you for the kind words Fred.

Just seen the master once, last year. But it was enough, along with all the Blu Rays, to prove that he is Godzilla among monster players. So pleased and honored to have seen him, and been so close to the stage. I don’t think I have seen a better example of a guitarist, musician, and performer in all my 53 years. And I have seen them all. Joe, please keep rocking the blues and keeping the blues alive! Can’t wait for “Redemption” to come out this month!!! You give so much to the music world and make Earth a better place with your gifts!

Been a fan for nearly seven years...and the more I know about Joe the person, the more I see his spirit pouring out in every note played. He's a genius. How can one person play like this night after night and not miss a beat? It's a gift (and hard work). His soul is consumed by music, blues, rock, soul; whatever moves him to play. And...he can sing! His voice has softened and strengthened over these last 10 years. Just love him....

This song by Albert King changed my life in 1972. I'd seen Albert on a TV show from the Filmore West, and loved it. But in the fall of '72 I went off to college. I heard "Angel of Mercy" on the college radio station, and that was it! It changed my life.

Anton Fig is a great drummer. He works well with everyone and has the ability to amaze with his fills, but he only uses fills that make the song better. It takes confidence to avoid trying to prove yourself by not trying to continuously show everything you can do. This video gives me goosebumps! You could be a mile away and still get swept away with the beat the band lays down.

Mike Flack . I agree totally with you- joe is outstanding, he picks only the best musicians for his band, his backup singers are top rated singers in their own right. It really bugs me too when they dis his suit & his faces- how many blues guitarists does anyone know that dont make faces??? Hell I even make faces when I’m listening to him!!!
