05 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7 hemi - air raid pipe install with stock box. This is a very simple install here folks. Two bolts take the old plastic intake and air box out of the jeep 5.7 hemi. Unplug the Air temp sensor and install it on the air raid intake pipe. Then 8 push clips for the front grill and that comes right off. Pull the intake pipe plastic piece out to remove that front cover and put it back in. But the airbox back in, then install the air raid intake pipe with the boots and tighten. Plug in the AIT sensor and put the grill back on.

Very easy job and it will remain a cold air intake as the air is sucked from the front of the jeep and not from under the hood.

The front cover you removed off the air inlet behind the grill is to stop water from coming in and getting sucked into your throttle body.

I don’t plan on driving through hood deep water ever. So should be fine. Thanks for the concern though.

@@grumpysdiy I get that. But, just driving at 50-60 mph in pouring rain can cause issues as rain passes through the grill and straight into that inlet. My buddy had it happen to his WK. I have an 05 4.7 with an Injen CAI and it has a cover over the filter to deflect rain droplets. - But, that’s a clean Hemi you got. The interior leather looks to be in good shape. Can’t find those out here in PA.

@@iMoses14 That's one hell of a rain storm. I get it almost anything is possible, I just don't see it being an issue where I live as I live in the high dessert with very little rain all year.
