Hermitcraft episodes could just be this every single time and I'd be good. Maybe a building timelapse somewhere once and a while but the chatting is what makes it fun for me!

Joel saying his first video was 2007 and then getting called old made me curious, because I graduated in 07 and I remember when youtube got popular in 05/06. My first upload was in 2006, and it was my favorite local band playing a show that I was at the night before my prom lol

I still regretted that I didn't turn my lost old KZfaq account to Google account in 2010 when they ask to connect your account to Google. Instead I made this new Google account years later in 2012 and lost all of my old playlist lol

My first hermitcraft video is Mumbo. Im not playing minecraft but now i know redstone because of how mumbo explain it interestingly. And i still dont play Minecraft 😅

Fun fact about me: Pocket Edition was actually where I started playing Minecraft; I didn’t watch any videos. It’s sort of a long story about how I eventually got Minecraft at all, but it involved my cousins and a tremendous uproar from all of us because Pocket Edition was not the app that was SUPPOSED to be downloaded, it was supposed to be a ripoff Minecraft thing, and everyone immediately got jealous

I remember the days of the KZfaq time limit! You had to have had an established account to get the ability to upload 15m episodes, and I remember back then thinking, "Who would ever watch a *fifteen minute* YT video?" *Edit:* OMG. Stars. *Edit:* OMG. _Response videos!_ I think we still have that in some form (maybe just for shorts?)

I honestly can't remember the exact first time I saw minecraft on KZfaq. I actually got minecraft before I had heard that much about it because my brother really wanted to get it and my mom agreed to let him get it if I got it first to check it out. So I got it, played it a bit then pretty much forgot about it until I found out it could be modded (cause vanilla didn't have much at that point) and then I started playing a lot of modded and looked up videos specifically to find mods. I know Yogscast was one of the first channels I remember and so was Captain Sparklez. But I also was really bad with names as it was back then so there were probably others I just had trouble remembering the names of that I did watch a lot. I also don't remember *exactly* when I even got minecraft...

i started minecraft at a time when trying to play multiplayer was a trial by fire. probably early 2010s, one of my besties had an smp. at the time mobs still tracked you through glass 😂 horrifying nights

I think weirdly the first Minecraft video I watched was from Joey Graceffa? Back when the walking dead mod was superrrr new. Maybe it was with Shubble?? But I can’t really remember. Then I transitioned to an old SMP HBomb94 was a part of, then chimneyswift and attack of the Bteam with bdubs and then FINALLY hermitcraft in like season 5/6

i think etho might have been my earliest, but i remember watching grian first a very long time ago, and mumbo redstone stuff, and this was well before i cared for minecraft

Pocket edition now is just the same as bedrock , ita also much better than the old buggy version........also coincidentally the first minecraft youtuber i watched is joel his video got randomly recommended by youtube so i tried to watch it.

Etho can't be that old, iirc in one of his videos (maybe its S10 when he's down making Frogger, maybe it's an older video of his lets play when he talks about the Kakashi skin) he says he was in his teens when Naruto came out, and the anime is like 2007. He would be born late-80s which makes him not even 40

he said he got visual basic when he was 8 (in a frogger video), and if he got it before visual basic 4 came out that's only a two year window, and he's late 30s. Speaking as a (fellow?) Elder Millennial, his media references very much line up with that age range.

@@ChillCubitoClipsYeah, I learned Visual Basic in high school in the early aughts. From Etho's video explaining the Frogger backstory, it sound like he's in his late 30s or _possibly_ early 40s.

tl;dr I think he's 36-40, probably 37/38 If that's the clip I'm thinking of, that very much sounded to me like "Etho goofing around" voice. Like the one that made people think a *monty python joke* was his real life - he did not have a sister bitten by a moose, moose attack with their bodies and feet and antlers not teeth, and it's just... I couldn't believe when I saw that on a list of Etho facts. (Like me, he sometimes has too deadpan a sense of humor and people take it as fact.) However, I think it's true, I just don't trust him in LimLife lol. in the hc bit recently about frogger and coding, he sounded quite sincere when he said he got visual basic 3 at 8yo. It came out in summer 1993, visual basic 4 came out in 1995, if he got it before visual basic 4 he's around 36-40. Can't be older than 40 unless that was a weird lie.
