Joel is so underrated, by which I really mean unknown outside of metalhead circles. The guy flat kills every time I see him!

I humbly believe no Lead Guitar player of Whitesnake would ever be considered underrated. David Coverdale has always set high bar standards for hiring in the band. Especially for lead guitar. Same for Cher (The Goddess of Pop - not a metalhead), who Joel also played with.

@@cezar.menezes Did you read what I wrote or just see the word "underrated" and decide to chime in? Literally no one other than Joel fans know about his playing with Cher or his jazz stuff or even TSO. That's why I said "by which I really mean unknown."

You are right. I understood what you said, and I agree. Perhaps Satriani is also little known by those who don't play or appreciate electric guitar (guitar virtuosos). Anyway, both Satriani and Hoekstra are among the best guitar heroes.@@rapid13

Reading some commentaries here made me feel so nostalgic! Reminded me of when I was 16 and used to say some guitarist was “better” than others. But then I grew up and realized that art is not about competition. I believe Joe and Joel would agree with me.

Вот поэтому Hoekstra можно видеть с Sher например, и другими красавчиками и красавицами... Чего не скажешь о Satriani. При всём моём уважении к Satri, я вижу его старым лысым интровертом. Да и мелодии уже не те...
