Vietnamese food is characterized by combinations of fresh herbs and diverse local vegetables with aromatic and fermented (delicious) meats and sauces. Like many other South East Asian cuisines, part of the genius of Vietnamese food recipes lies in how it allows for economic use of more abundant and affordable vegetables and carbohydrates to stretch the more expensive and rare meat items into satisfying meals.
In modern Vietnam, while still appreciating the basis of food heritage, a visitor can enjoy a veritable mind-melting sea of flavors... and today we are enjoying this situation with ONE gigantic and amazing seafood feast.
With some help from mom and dad, Li and I are celebrating with a huge order including stingray, ocean fish, shrimp, and crab, we have a hot pot, we have rice, we have all the herbs and sides Vietnam is famous for, AND (thanks to the French influence lasting in Vietnam) we even have baguettes.
Its a mega meal at a great location, with the addition of being almost impossible to find :), and this is definitely one of my favorite meal memories from Vietnam already, if only for the sheer amount of food we get to eat today :)
HAVE A GREAT DAY all, and thanks again for the fun comments after all these videos.
See you for the next one soon! Much love
-Joel and Li
