Married Military Pay
Military pay when you are married in the Air Force! That's what this video is all about. The us armed forces bases it's pay for all the branches the same. So Army, Air Force, Marines, and Navy all go off the same pay chart. currently we are on the 2015 pay chart for the armed forces but soon we will be switching to the 2016 military pay chart. now I'm not sure how the pay scale works for air national guard or for the air force reserves, same with the national guard or the army reserves. But for active duty enlisted force the pay scale is all the same. So no matter if you are going Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marines this video about military pay should be able to benefit you to understanding just how the US military pay charts for 2015 work for the armed forces of the United States. Hope this video helps you guys!

I started watching these videos when I was thinking of joining the Air Force almost 2 years ago. I still watch just because it is still cool to me that you're willing to open up your life for the purpose of helping others. I guess what I'm trying to say is, keep doing what you're doing man. Even the people who watch this for entertainment purposes enjoy it!

@@lateshiaford305 you can find this stuff on websites. It's depends on how long youve been in and location. But let's just say it's good. So if your on base housing your good and you'll get basic pay for e4 with bas (food money). Im not gonna guesstimate because it all depends on the individual.

Anyway, I think folks joining the military should have a plan. Actually think about it before joining... have an idea what ya want out of it long term... That base pay he talked about is pre-tax. Officer is the way to go these days. A Lt. Col with 20 years has a base salary of 7-8k a month. They sure didn't pay officers that way when my dad was in. I think in 1992 as a Lt. Col with 20 years his base salary was about 48k plus housing. I know he was always bothered when he found out some of his enlisted men were on food stamps and working second jobs- that was in the 80s
@vesuvyan
@vesuvyan 6 жыл бұрын
It's about the same, in terms of raw buying power both amounts were worth. 48k in the early 90s is about the as 80k in today's money. It's just how inflation works my guy.

AFRH is a "donation" to the Armed Forces Retirement Home. Every enlisted person is eligible to live there (they have 2 locations) in their old age if they have no better options and they need assisted living. The combination of all pay deductions and the share of punitive fine monies they receive is enough to provide for all their residents free of charge. It is not run by the VA.

+Snap Great If you're moving to a different base (PCS), USAF will pay for movers to come and pack your stuff, move it, and unpack it at your new location.

moving u get orders.. you arrainge with the housing office for a date for mover sto come.. they pack everything.. EVERYTHING.. leave adirty cup they will pack it.. then.. it goes into storage somewhere wiating for your phone call at your new housing office to deliver it.. then they deliver it.. and unpack it.. they pack everything inclusing the mess on teh floor. toys etc... the hard part is finding a new house.. and having money to pay for it.. the military does NOT cover your actual expenses for livng off base.. they just give u an allowance that might cover half what actually comes out of your pocket. Soon as you get orders to a new place.. contact that new base's housing authority and get on a waiting list for housing. that date determines the first come first serve order.. so do it FIRST when you get orders.. dont delay a minute. they will then notify you when your on post housing is ready.. you contact housing office and they have the movers drup your stuff off on the day you desire. you don't have to move anything.. they do everything. if housing is not available all commands sponsor and designate a person to sponsor new members.. who should be able to help you out with contacting real estate people or the housing office.. etc.. contact your sponsor and give them your consernces.. they shoudl get back to you promptly. My sponsor found a house for me and had it waitnig for my arrival. There are usually waiting times.. if the time is less than 2 weeks or so you can move into or ask to move into temporary (less than 2 week stay) housing.. which is FULLY furnished. there are waiting lists for that too.. so inquire the second you have orders confirmed. for these new back organizations to take action (like getting your name on a waiting list) they need confirmation of your orders.

I wished I had BAS in the dorms, I had shared a bathroom and a kitchen for 3 years. My roommate was off shift, he got BAS. He never made any food and somehow always made a mess in the kitchen and always getting screwed with dorm inspections. I did receive BAS for 3 months while I did base Honor Guard, I was able to spend about 100-150ish, and eat a ton of food. Overall I absolutely hated living in the dorms. As soon as I was told "you will receive BAH on this date (Friday)." I was all moved out and living in a new apartment, Thursday afternoon.

BAS is the same across the board for all enlisted that gets BAS. I worked at DFAC, so I never went hungry, ha ,ha. When I lived in the dorms, we had a meal card for DFAC and yes I too, at all 4 meals. Took advantage of that situation. My COLA was a little higher for me cause I was stationed at Ramstein AFB.
