About shortage of cork, in your last video What happen it was that some years ago new world producers started complaining about the cork closures introducing TCA in the wine. Then specially Australians (and New Zealand) move on to plastic closures. The problem was that they were "maçaricos" :) AKA NEW (new world and new producers) they had no experience. Because TCA can be introduce in the wine trough several ways other then the cork. When you started to realize that even with plastic closures there were wines with TCA... producers started to come back to cork closures... for several reasons (the cork allows the wine to breath and it's much more environmentally friendly then plastic and it's use promotes the protection of cork oaks forests) Besides in the last 20 years the cork industrie improve the quality so much that is rare to open a bottle with TCA here in Portugal

My mother side of the family is from Reguengos de Monsaraz and there isn´t a better place for a chilled summer holidays as Reguengos de Monsaraz or Monsaraz. Much love Joen and Amelie, even when I was living abroad I used to watch your videos! keep up the good work and showing us weekly that us portuguese should be proud of our country and kind heart people!

I agree with Joen 100%. I am not the only one that sees it. Outside seating in Portugal is all a big "sponsor" thing. All tables, umbrellas, chairs, etc... They all belong to some big company. Esthetically is ugly as hell. Instead of having their own furniture and be creative, owners decided the "easy way" giving the big companies huge free ads in exchange of free furniture. Ugly to cross a town and see "Super Bock", "Ola" "Delta" etc written everywhere. I went to Viseu this past summer... The mayor there prohibited the use of this kind of ads. The result is a "clean" pleasant city... Eye friendly. It became my favorite city in the country. Not just because of that of course but is no wonder is considered the "best place to live in Portugal" many years in a row.

Reguengos de Monsaraz is a very beautiful municipality that you need to visit if you are in the area. Great food, great landscapes, the Alqueva dam and the beautiful town of Monsaraz... ah, and the wine (I don't like wine, but if you like it's a good area to try it). One question: "anho" and "año" are false friends. "Anho" in Portuguese is a small "cabrito" (little goat) and if you have to say "año" in Portuguese you have to say "ano", with no palatization on the "n".

yes, but all the international credit goes to the Spanish food, which is now one of trendiest in the world, some of the most acclaimed restaurants in the world are spanish. Portugal is nowhere near that...so ..something Portugal is doing bad!

@@nacht98 They can keep the international credit and the trendiest restaurants. Spain is a marketing product. Like Coca cola. A shit drink full of sugar with no soul. Portugal has a genuine, very diversified, traditional and down to earth gastronomy. Those who come and get to know our gastronomy, fall in love with it. Michelin stars are very good but they have no soul. Michelin food tastes the same evrywhere in the world. The road of portuguese gastromy is being made steadily. International recognition will come and has already started to come.

Primeiro cria na cabecinha algo que não existe "cozinha espanhola" quando existe cozinha basca, cozinha galega (quase a mesma que a do norte de Portugal), cozinha valenciana, cozinha andaluz e etc... depois vem soltar uma dessas sem sequer ter provado a comida galega de raíz, o polvo a feira galego é conhecido da Corunha até o Porto, a mariscada se calhar uma das melhores, o caldo galego, broa, castanha... Enfim, continua com tua propaganda aí a e a chupar ovos desses dois dinamarqueses

Just like in fine dinning restaurants, concerning wine, don't pay too much attention to the prices Some Portuguese wines win *INTERNATIONAL BLIND* contests... and they cost 6€ or 7€ in the supermarket (after winning the price mighty raise a little bit :)
