The Joepresso Espresso Attachment for the Aeropress Coffee Maker transforms your AeroPress from a simple immersion brewer into a pressurized percolation brewer, allowing you to make real espresso at home or anywhere with just an AeroPress.
Compatible with AeroPress and eliminating the need for paper filters, it’ll help you achieve higher pressures than the standard filter basket, making for stronger, more flavorful coffee with a smoother crema. And it’s easy to use - simply attach it to the top of your AeroPress, add a small amount of coffee and water and press down on the plunger to brew!
The Joepresso design relies on the stainless steel pressurized basket, which opens up once a reliable consistent pressure is reached during brewing and will force the brew through the shower screen to produce a large amount of crema.
A silicon-seal is seated with the attachment to ensure it is leak free with no drips and keeps all the pressure in the brew chamber whilst pressing. The brew basket is easy to remove afterwards and is dishwasher safe.
Basic Joepresso Instructions:
Grind 18g of coffee at a fine setting
Add 45g of hot water over ten seconds, then stir rapidly for twenty seconds
Insert the plunger and press down quickly to express the shot.
Please use caution when pressing down. Thin glassware may break if too much pressure is applied. When in doubt, use a ceramic or metal cup.
Get closer to easy, affordable home espresso with the Fellow Prismo for AeroPress. Featuring a stainless steel filter, a no-drip seal, and a pressure actuated valve, this clever device is capable of producing espresso-style shots that are flavorful, versatile, and quick to drink.
The magic of the Prismo is its pressure actuated valve that generates additional pressure and shoots out the brewed shot in a way that forms a creamy mouthfeel and bold flavor. Also contributing to the full body and flavor is the stainless steel 70-micron etched filter. It’ll last you for years and can easily be detached for quick cleaning.
Basic Fellow Prismo Instructions:
Grind 18g of coffee at a fine setting
Add 45g of hot water over ten seconds, then stir rapidly for twenty seconds
Insert the plunger and press down quickly to pull the shot
You can drink your espresso-style shot by itself, top with water to make an americano, top with steamed milk to make a cappuccino, or use it to create a variety of creative coffee cocktails.
When you’re not plunging, the no-drip seal keeps all the coffee where it’s supposed to be-inside the brewer. This means no more premature dripping mid-brew, which means you can brew AeroPress coffee via the regular method without sacrificing quality.
Please use caution when pressing down. Thin glassware may break if too much pressure is applied. When in doubt, use a ceramic or metal cup.

Thanks for that. Great comparison. I have both and use them both depending on what type of coffee I am feeling like.

Great review as always, thanks Josh. I've got the Prismo but only use it while traveling, I absolutely love the results when away from my espresso machine. Keep these videos coming, they are really informative.

Got two prismos for home and work and recently started using papers as well as the prismo. I really like this method

I also use the paper filter on top of the Prismo, via the inverted method.

How about letting them sit in the water for 2 minutes? Then see if it still tastes "under-extracted."

Please review the Staresso Mirage, I heard you can also convert it to non pressurized basket as long as you got the grind size right.

Great review, sir! Would like to see a review soon of the Cafflano Kompresso, maybe against the Staresso, Barsetto Tripresso and/or some Wacaco products, for the ultimate portable espresso showdown.

Like many people, I use the Prismo while travelling. It is tolerant of grind, so I normally get local beans ground at point of sale, but I can also run pre-ground in a pinch. Plus you don’t need to worry about having enough paper filters. The Joepresso seems like it is better suited for somebody without a machine at home who wants to experiment with other methods, or who is heading towards an espresso machine.

have you tried the Staresso? it's a handy pump-style portable espresso maker... it also uses a pressurized filter basket and creates decent crema... maybe you can make a comparison between the Joepresso and the Staresso 😊

Joepresso released a v2 which looks like its just a mesh filter and seal combo vs the separate pieces. Do you think this is an improvement vs the OG setup?

I like the idea of using the paper filter as well with the Prismo to catch more of the oils. Great comparison...this really does make a great poor man’s espresso. I also didn’t realize at the time I watched this video the Prismo is less than half the price of the Joepresso as well. The Joepresso is twice the cost of the Aeropress too...that’s a big strike for me.

Hello, which one would you buy for lattes and cappucinos that is the closest to a real espresso? AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap, fellow prismo or the joepresso? If you only had to choose one

Hi Josh, i see there's a joepresso v2 now. Is this what you were using previously? I can't find anyone really stating if they are v1 or v2 (i assume v1 then). Thanks!

Warning: I ruined my Aeropress using Prismo because it does not screw in all the way, leaving 2/3 of the retaining leafs not reinforced by the integration wings of the pressor. This puts a lot of pressure on the 1/3 of the AP leaf that ends up bearing the full down pressure. In the end the Aeropress developed a crack which grew until it could not hold together under pressure, allowing both water and coffee to escape during the press.
