Honestly nothing makes me happier than listening to Joey and someone he’s close to talk about their lives on and off drugs because they’re both clean now and living a good life with families. Relate so much to Joey. The last 6 months of my active addiction, or at least the last 6 months before I hit rock bottom, I was doing an 8 ball a day going into work in an office of women and picking up every single lunch break. Driving 30 minutes each way with the dealer whipped into shape from sustained teaching to be where and when we agreed. Staying up for 5 nights then sleeping 18/20 hours on a Friday night while my wife raised out 1yr old. Didn't need drink until the evening when I'd need to blow chunks out of my nose in order to clear the passages, which hurt like a mother fucker. So I'd do two bottles of Jack between 7pm and 7am then get up for work no sleep, gambling all night. Logging onto works bank account and transferring money to gamble with up to 12 times a night. I woke up every day hoping I'd be wiped from existence. No just dead but never lived. Family and friends could live their lives without my influence. I'm 18 months clean and sober. Back with the wife and spend all the time I can with my 3 year old. Working in a job that gives me immense satisfaction and I've taken responsibility for my actions with work, the police, the courts and soon with my regulatory body (chartered accountant). Love Joey's stories as its funny as fuck. But equally love his message (when he gets to it). The man can bring so much good to the world and he has the platform to do it

Did a g on Christmas for the first time sober, no alcohol, no weed nothing. Me and my buddy plan it, so I didn't drink all day nor smoke to celebrate a white only Christmas. We get the package a g each, go to my others friends house, and break down this flaky stinky yay, a baby line to start night off, things are going well. In about 2-3hr done 3-4 lines 1 every half hr standard shit (by the way I'm 4times a year doing coke kinda guy no savage). At this point great night talk is flowing, music on point etc. Then my other friend start smoking a joint I'm like fck that I ain't smoking while sniffing. Gets to 4.30 am my buddy stops sniffing, I've got half a g left and spilt it into 3 lines, these are massive to lines to me (plus the coke fluffed up so it was a big g). I sniff 1 in each nostril after taking a naughty drop I look at the other line like your gonna have to wait knowing its my last line. Gets to around 5.45 and my buddy is fulling tweaking out getting restless etc and wanting to home. So out of respect for him I sniffed my last line so speed the process up. I call a cab, while waiting my mate pulls the baggy out he had and looks at it like I'm glad I didn't do the rest of you. He got like 3 lines and I say can I buy that of you. He say no which fair play its his. The cab arrives a bit quick so I'm trying to pack my ps4 away while this last line has just hit fcking impossible to do this while fcked up lol. I pack it away and get into the cab, paranoid as fck and I start tweaking out. Got dropped off at my buddys house and decided to walk the rest of the way home. A normal 5-10 walk turned into a hr 15mins walk. Get home and I'm fcking bad now coming down hard. 9am I'm fully sober with the worst come down in my life, chest pains, stomach ache, don't wanna eat, don't wanna drink don't wanna sleep. At this point I think I'm dying literally checking my heart beat, pluse every 5 minutes. I force a cup of tea down and a mouthful of toast gagging while eating it. 11am the anxiety is bad but I'm getting better , I've convinced myself I'm not dying and managed another cup of tea and 2 pieces of toast. Midday I'm tired now lying in bed still googling cocaine overdose symptoms, I say fck it lay my head down and said to myself if I die in my sleep what can you do. Still here cocksuckers. The thing I hated about that night was the night turned into the only priority was the cocaine, I didn't enjoy it like I do with a beer and pick me up bump in the toliet at a pub or club. 4:44 hits home. I graduated 2016, and my friend used to smoke opiates on foil with my math teacher all throughout my time in highschool. She OD'd on H my senior year. She was one of the realest most honest, and nice teachers i met. She was hooked since the 80's after getting pills when being hurt in the military. Crazy how someone can go from doing math for the tomahawk missiles, to dying from drugs. Thats a sign we NEED things like psychedelic therapy and other legal drugs with way less regulation and stigma around them. Were losing amazing bright people from greed.
