As a taller larger beginner your videos have been inspiring. Everyone told me that being taller Peekaboo doesn't work. It's just a shame there aren't more videos starting from the very basics of a stance to good adaptations for taller fighters for combos etc.

Do the feet stay flat footed while throwing uppercut or do you teach to pivot foot or raise heel? When you threw them it looked like you were flat footed more. When the kid threw them he pivoted with foot, At least on the right uppercut he was. Thanks Man. Best of luck

Is there any way we can get an in depth explanation of how to get the proper "shoulder snap" for uppercuts and hooks? Ive seen several people try to explain it and it's always been slightly confusing to me. Specifically an in depth explanation of the body mechanics of the shoulder snap, and how to know you're doing it right. I really appreciate these videos.
@warrior-prints73856 жыл бұрын
the shoulder snaps or rotates in the socket at the end of the punch ... before you start punching, practice shucking your shoulder in a quick snappy circle (the exact direction your shoulder moves depends on the direction of punch) ... then make sure you feel that movement at the end of your punch
@user-sh8sh3rz1u6 жыл бұрын
Jason Taylor you can't explain it, you just have to learn it.
@harageilucid43526 жыл бұрын
I second this request. J.T. (Precision Striking) made a video on the shoulder snap but i dont know if it will help or not. I havent found any others besides that one.
@Heavyweight-kh8ss5 жыл бұрын
You just want to rotate your shoulders in the same direction your punch is traveling. It gives your punches leverage. You throw a punch from the ground up. Plant your rear foot and drive up, rotate your hips, twist your core, rotate/snap your shoulders, and then put your punch at the end of this sequence. All of these snaps/rotations go in the direction of your punch. This all adds to your punch leverage and ultimately punch power. Back your self up to a wall and keep your back glued to the wall, and throw some uppercuts, hooks, even jabs/crosses. You will have no power in them, because your only throwing the punch with your arms. When your use shoulder/hip snap, and drive up from floor you increase power big-time. Another way to look at shoulder snap, is that your arm is connected to your shoulder, when you snap/rotate your shoulder towards the target to start your punch, your shoulder is pulling your arm to the target and is creating more velocity and speed in your punch.
