@@p_e_t_e No argument there LOL.But what I said is accurate. NEITHER The Ramones, norJethro Tull are Heavy Metal bands...This show is stupid. As to the rest, I had heard of some of those bands back in the mid 1980s. I lived LA at the time and it was the Mecca of Hair Bands and Heavy Metal. Out of all of these, Danger Danger was the only band that got any airplay on the radio. None of them went far....pretty much sucked.

Joeys mom seemed like a doll. The Ramones were an absolutely incredible band, at the forefront of the punk music scene, but as Joey mentioned, incorporated tons of musical styles into their own interpretations, doo-wop, surfer guitar, rock and roll, all at super sonic speed with their own unique flair. They paved the way for generations of garage and alternative bands even to this day.. My mom hated 99% of the music I played growing up, but tolerated the Ramones...I’ll never forget her singing along to one of their songs to my amazement, and telling me ‘that’s a song from MY day’, and I thanked her for trying to ruin it for me!

It's not even a surprise to younger generation that their favorite singer can't play any instruments or even read music!! They don't even care their voices aren't real!!! Sad. @@spookymulder9048 totally related. Johnny thunders and the ramones made the leather jacket craze even cooler than bruce springsteen and jim morrison ever did. A lot of metalheads will say they hate punk but many metal musicians were moreso influenced musically and fashion as a teen by rock n roll like the ramones that paved the way for punk rock. Even slayer and guns n roses did an entire studio album each that mainly consist of early hardcore and punk covers. Also, members of at the gates are in a hardcore crust punk band. Or how about all the 80s butt rock hair metal glam bands like poison and hanoi rocks that were just scene biting david bowies and new york dolls style? I can seriously keep going...

It’s very strange to think about how much time is now passed. I remember watching this as a little kid, maybe 3rd grade? Both Joey and his wonderful mother Charlotte are now reposed, been gone for quite some time now. Times are worse now, and that’s not just a matter of perspective either. Ask anyone, young or older. The world, at least the Western world, is now a darker, nastier, and more dismal place. And I don’t think it’s going to get any better either. Miss these times.
