The first time I ever heard the song, I was going into my freshman year of high school. That was in 1975. I can honestly say that since then, I have heard the song thousands of times. I can also honestly say that every time I hear it, it's like hearing it for the first time. That's the essence and power of good music. Rather than envy, I feel sorry for those who have never taken the time or had the opportunity to listen to the song for the first time.

There are a millionty famous, benchmark rap/hip-hop songs that I've never heard of... entire benchmark rap/hip-hop groups I've never heard of.
