Add to that the orange arrow and the block on the stairwells so you have to leave where the arrow is. Very coincidental Mirror's Edge vibe. The green screen in the tower is actually really useful when theres bad weather! I went to Tokyo Tower and the weather was so bad, everything was white. But we thankfully managed to at least get a good photo thanks to the green screen! It was the only time we could go - we were traveling, and it was free! Excluding the entrance price that is. Actually smart of them! If not we would've returned down from the tower extremely disappointed we couldn't see anything and nothing for keepsake of the memory.

Hmm, makes me think that I've never actually seen 'camping' videos from people in Japan. It's always people staying in some building/residential space and never far from a city, snow camping is certainly something I haven't experienced as an aussie and the spots you could visit far away from people would be interesting. The abandoned places you (and your other friends) visit with Chris are interesting and 'camping' might lead to more of that.

#yes Hokkaido is definitely worth visiting. You missed the Onidensetsu brewery in Noboribetsu but your priorities are different from mine.

Genghis Kaaaaaaahn is definitely a must do in Sapporo. Hokkaido is an amazing place - especially in Winter - although each time we've gone our flights had been delayed because of snow. Once for a few hours and another time for a couple of days. We got to see more of Osaka than we expected because of that. Thanks Hokkaido blizzards. When we did arrive we had to drive across Hokkaido to where we were going to stay in the North but because of the blizzard the highways were cut and a 3 hour drive turned into a 9 hour expedition. When we told people in Tokyo we were going to Hokkaido they'd laugh and say "lots of Australians in Hokkaido". Yeah sorry about that 😂😁 It is an amazing place. PS Hokkaido has the world's best cheesecakes!!! You're welcome 😁 PPS Hokkaido has some of the best free outdoor onsen (rotenburo) - check out Lake Kussharo. ♨♨♨

Not to be pedantic, but as a big weather fan I thought I would mention I am pretty sure the "hail" you saw was sleet. Its a different formation process but to put it simply the ice melts a bit as it is falling but then gets colder near the ground and refreezes into those little pellets. Hail is in the warm weather and it is when the ice balls get thrown up and down in the clouds to accumulate material before falling eventually.
