Жыл бұрынAfter a few days of exploring Kerala's history and food culture in Kozhikode, we were already yearning to get back into the nature, so we booked a quick getaway at Le Candles eco resort in the outskirts of Calicut. When it comes to travelling with family and small kids, nothing beats relaxing amidst lush green, peaceful nature and it was not easy to get Annika to go back home! She absolutely fell in love with all the pet animals and the kids' play area there. Hope you'll enjoy this time in the nature with us as much as we did!

My name is Johanna North. I’m a Finnish woman travelling in India since 2016. In 2019 I married my Indian husband and we moved to the state of Kerala in southern India, where we are still living. In 2021 we welcomed our baby girl into this world. On this channel I share videos on blending our Finnish-Indian family life, culture, food and travel mostly in India, and sometimes in Finland too.

Hi Johanna, I think they you are a very considerate person. For example, in this vlog you explained that travel can be expensive and it isn't necessary to travel with children in order to enable them broaden their horizons. There's lots of things families can do that don't cost a lot. Re a beach side picnic, park visits, street shows etc. But still.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE how u travel with Annika and I love how you expose her to nature holidays. I hope that when she's older you can fulfil your childhood dream in Disneyland with lil Annika. I know families who take children younger than Annika to Disneyland but perhaps they have the money. It does seem better value for money to wait until Annika can fully appreciate it. I know u like the nature holidays but Disney trips and trips to Lapland can perhaps be once In a lifetime experiences. You and Vinod have become such good cinematic videographers and editors. Beautiful resort. Totally in sync with your narration and observations. Also I think Annika will Enjoy Disney land after the age of 6 or 7. For now there’s nothing more beautiful enriching her life that you as parents are providing her along with her grand parents and the beautiful Nature experiences she has.

As a 35 year old single male, all I can say is how you are spending time with Annikka is amazing. I never recieved much affection from my parents because they both worked. I always crave for love from family even now. Parents, in the name of career, arent able to care for their children nowadays. It might not seem much now but in 20 years time, the pain those kids will have cannot be expressed. Just my humble opinion!!

Sorry to hear that you didnt get to feel like your parents were able to balance careers and parenting well! I of course basically have nothing but all the time in the world to give Annika my attention and care as a stay-at-home mom, but i have to admit that I’d love to be able to work on the side too. Well, maybe once Annika goes to school 😊 Vinod is much more ambitious and work-oriented than I am, but I love that he finds it important to spend a lot of time with Annika and be an equally caring parent. We kind of want to be around as much as we can to set an example to Annika of what good life, good family and good relationships are 😊 but I understand especially in the indian context why some people even as parents might be extremely focused on work and hustling all the time to get the monetary benefits for life. But it’s always sad if a kid has to suffer due to it ❤

The cats were mostly wandering around the property throughout the day. I think the cages were for the animals to eat and rest in, in safety and comfort as there can be lots of wild animals around in the jungle too 😊

Those cats are just too filmy to believe they are real. I haven't seen such cats before. One cat has even reminded me of Puss in Boots movie. 😂😂

They are very cartoonish or like some movie characters at least! Especially that grumpy cat reminds of some very funny cartoon or something, unfortunately i cant remember what exactly 😅

The cats were mostly roaming around freely in the resort, but the caging is pretty much for their own safety and comfort during food and sleep time.

My experience going to Disney when the child is above 8years We went my younger child is only 3 years She don't remember much My son remember everything since he was 9 years

I agree with this so much. Going to a place like Disneyland would most likely be a once in a lifetime experience for us, so I’d want it to happen at an age when Annika not only is able to fully enjoy but also remember it later in life for the most part 😊

Dear Johanna, My wife and I are your big fan and eagerly await each video. And thank you so much for promoting India and our culture. However, I have a different question here as now you know that most young Indians are migrating to Western countries Like the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. And the new list is Finland. So as you lived in both countries, please make a video for the difference between both countries. The main reason people want to go abroad is to create wealth, but unfortunately, they won't be able to obtain this.
