In this video I'm going through how to use dynamic stretching and static stretching to make your tricks look as good as they deserve to look. Sorry if you find it boring to listen to me. I'm not the greatest at addressing an audience. Hope my points come through. If something is unclear feel free to comment.

What did you think about this video? Been thinking about making this for quite some time now. When I started tricking I couldn't even do a cartwheel properly because how poor my hip flexibility was. My legs just didn't want to spread and it took me years of work to get where I'm now. If I would have known all this back then it would have been a much more straight forward process to me. So, I really wanted to share this and maybe make your process easier.

in my opinion it's really well explain and nice because normally I'll just go in static stretching and go super hard without doing dynamic and mobility first which I ended up pulled something behind my knee, but thank you sooo much for making this video🙏

@@johzuke1 ya definitely gonna fix that, but how often should I stretch ? and does stretching actually makes us weaker if we do too much
@johzuke1
@johzuke1 4 жыл бұрын
@@KerWinLee05 I talked about the frequency in this video and how the intensity and your overall load plays a big role in this. First I will answer your question about getting weaker by stretching. There is some truth into it - if you would do relaxed stretching every single day and it would take time off your actual tricking or strength training it will make you weaker but probably increase your flexibility. Still this kind of flexibility without the strength to lift your legs up is not really beneficial in tricking. Your legs will look like spagetti during kicks and most other tricks and your risk of injury is higher because lack of stability. When it comes to stretching my way (dynamic, mobility and static relaxed afterwards) there is no risk for that because firts half of your session you are actively training your muscles lifting your legs pretty intensively and just after that going for the more deep and relaxed stretches. Still you have trained your muscles responsible for doing the important things they should do when tricking and when you next time after you have recovered go for the leg lifts again you might get a little higher and then again you are strengthening your new range of motion 👍🏻. This kind of stretching is hard on your body and I would advice to train it max 3 times per week (full routine). On the other days you can stretch lightly (light stretching is not stressful but really it's not that good for progressing either) without harming your body's ability to recover from the major stretching sessions and all other stress you are putting on your body. Remember that little quality work is better than a lot half-assed work.

It really depends on you really. You could also warmup with the leg lifts and do static ones after lifting 🤷🏻‍♂️ You can do like 3 times 30 secods I guess but that also depends on what you feel is the best for you.
