John Bzdel's 1988 LS7/T56 Monte Carlo SS makes it's first visit to the dragstrip and performs a best ET of 11.52 @ 121.66mph with DOT legal street tires through mufflers! The motor is a stock 2006 ZO6 LS7 crate motor.

I love it....the C6 even got a jump. That LS7 is no joke. You can find John's car on several web sites. It's an impressive build. My favorite Monte.

That is an awesome combo. I had a white 84 SS and after having a LT1 6m Camaro I always thought that would be a great drivetrain in a Monte SS, even if it were auto. I really dig the Monte.

John, usually I get a smug feeling when I see other G-bodies and think about how I have the best one (Grand National) but then I see yours and I suddenly feel very small. Well done, your Monte is rad.

Beautiful car! These cars, along with the later model Cutlass 442 and especially the Grand Nationals were so underrated when they came out. Perfect sleeper cars with good styling, a comfortable ride and enough performance to keep most drivers happy...until they drop an LS7 in their ride :) Great vid!

Great Monte! Also excellent job on the conversion- Im so glad to see a Monte used wisely unlike the last video I watched of an SS lifted on 26 inch rims

Did you have to replace the rear end w/ a Ford 9" or a GM 12 bolt, or did you just keep the original rear in the car?

Hey i currently have a 1987 monte carlo ss with the stock 305 ho but it just so happens my next door neighboor got an ls7 from pinebelt chevy dealer blown up and the guy dident want the motor after it dropped a valve so the corvette zo6 owner bought a new motor and now i bought it from my neighboor and put new valve springs in it as well as a 600 lift cam besides that i was wondering if you had any problems putting the motor in so i can watch out for them.

AWESOME Monte Carlo! Always wished that Chevy would have dropped a few more HP in the MCSS as it was a SWEET looking ride with an excellent pedigree as a racer. Love the way your's still looks like a sleeper, I'm sure you smoke a lot of asses on the street with it. I'm a former MCSS Aerocoupe owner myself. Loved that car.

I manufacture the clutch pedal's needed to convert a G-body from an automatic transmission to a manual using the hydraulic clutch set-up from an F-body. The pedal bolt's directly to the left side of your existing brake pedal bracket, pretty easy!
