There is nothing like moden high-tech machinery to fix heavy equipment.. Studying this video, one will see nothing like high tech machinery. It is heartwarnibg to see skill , experience, stubbornness, and the right amount of brute force fix something. As a kid I saw my farming relatives build and fix things with basic tools , their hands and old school brains. Your way of getting that machine fixed was artistry. One grandfather was a coal miner. He ran ,a dozer and coal shovel, among other mining jobs. I think he would have admired your work,. .My time on my grandparents farms and with my country kin kept me sane, when my city based family got crazy. Channels like your keep me grounded, other ties to those refuges fade. I hope you and your family enjoy all the blessing of the season of renewal. Take care friends.

I've only used a Lance once and one thing I learned is to commit. Get everything ready, line up the Lance so it goes straight and commit. It was a wild one for me.

as a welder in a large logging camp, i always lanced pins, and 5th wheel pin out with a cutting torch, you take an old # 3/0 cutting tip and silver solder a peace of steel copper in side brake line 20 times the length of the pin, use a 2nd torch and heat the end of the pin red hot, place the brake line tubing in center of pin strait up and down turn your oxy presser up to 60psi press down hard and hit the qxy trigger, and blast right though any pin, even long walking beam pins on skidders, let it cool off and they fall out, arc air is great for taking them trunion balls out, just dont know why you went to all the trouble to cut it out and not just buy anew one,,, i have rebuilt, built up hundreds of them balls and caps in my time right on the machine, rods bend.. it is possible when you do it every week.. use a stainless rod,, then a hard cap

Great work ! Saved a few bucks and Definitely saved the life of the blade carriage from premature fubar! I picked up an older IH/Case 515B loader cheap , the brakes are locked up . It has a wet disc clutch, common with frontend loaders, graders and the likes. Are there any videos out there on troubleshooting the electrical side off the system ? The wiring has been hacked recently and looks suspect for service brake solenoid or trans brake neutral switch ? Any suggestion or site forums , pdf diagrams etc. would give me a little more insight beforehand will certainly help my learning curveball Thanks

Sometimes I heat the pin then cool it with water and it can shrink the pin a tad bit. If that doesn't give me enough I heat only the area around the pin and it will come out. But doing this I have to weld a bead on the top and bottom. Hillbilly pin removal! 😁👋

Would you buy another one of these ole girls? I’ve been looking into getting another larger dozer. This would fit the bill and would be a cheap option. What do you think?
