I have a soft spot for the smaller combines in each John Deere series. We have run a 6620 and have a 9400 now. That young man is doing a great job.

Combines have really come a LONG way in the last 20 years. 20 years for some of your viewers is their entire lifetime, but that was just a short while ago to me.

Very nice. On my bosses farm, we use 2 9660 STS combines one is a Bullet Rotor, and a 9760 STS their oldest brother owns. We use these combines to harvest anything from Wheat in the summer, to Milo, Corn, and Soybeans in the fall.

That’s a little guy but still out getting it done. I miss the traditional machines from Gleaner and Deere. They have their applications and still do a fine job.

Nice video. Love seeing a young guy like that running equipment...especially a big machine like a combine. I was about his age when I learned on my father’s 4400. We now run a 9500 & 9550. Greatest combines ever built by deere...huge improvements from 9500 to 50 series, both in capacity, comfort and power (8.1L).

I drove 1of2 7720 , while the boss man ate . One a spike tooth and one had the rasp bar cylinder in it.Both of were turbo charged.

It was a river bottom field. Just a couple spots of grass. The combine crises through them.

Sadly enough I don’t have a farm or the money to buy one of these because I am just 16 years old but I did get a ride in a claas lexion 6600 wile harvesting canola and it was a nice and fun experience it also looked a bit newer

We do not run a 50 series combine, but I do remember riding in a 9550 running in an adjacent field to ours when I was younger. I also got a 50 series combine brochure a few weeks ago for my brochure collection

That’s a nice combine. I read that John Deere made those straw walker combines for quite a few years. Was it International Harvester or New Holland or Gleaner who came out with the first rotary combine? Great video and thanks for doing this for the fans and for those who don’t know much about production agriculture.

The New Holland TR 70 was the first rotary combine in 1975, the International 1460 and 1440 followed in 1977, the Gleaner N6 in 1978 and the WHITE 9700 in 1979.

We run a 2144 Case on 600 acres here in Australia. The small combines do have there place! Just recently upgraded to a 2366 with AFS. I am a John Deere header mechanic by trade but have a soft spot for the 21 and 23 series also.

My combine is a New Holland Cr10.90 and my 3 tractors are Lamborghini Mach 230 VTR new Holland T8.320 jcb fastrac 8310 Sadly this is just farming simulator 16 lol

First self propelled I ran was an old Massey 21a they were very crude but great for their time. First combine I ever ran was a pull type Cockshut they didn't even have unloading auger side shute that ran the grain into the truck or wagon

12 ft and 14 ft heads were common when they went to 16 ft they were huge. As custom harvesters they would load the combine and header on over the cab of the truck that's how they were transported no quick tach headers at that time
