Boy does that bring back the memories from the hours spent on 'D's'. Our starters didn't work either so you had to watch the flywheel backspin didn't take your hand back into the starter when you were hand cranking it. Got smart after awhile and parked it on a hill to make starting easier.

Yes, safety was not the highest priority. It would be easy to get hurt really fast.

Those tractors are awesome, Back in my youth I had the pleasure of running a "D" pulling a 16' one way ,quite a bit it was great, except for no turn brake on left side. Thanks for Sharing. 😊

When my Dad use to seed my Sister and I would ride on the back of the seeder on the wooden step ..One day we were pushing and shoving she was bigger and a couple years older than I was and she fell and the packer we had behind the seeder ran her over.long story short she was fine aside from a mouth and nose full of dirt..She was lucky the dirt was soft and fluffy really good black dirt..Our Parents are both long gone but we still laugh about it to this day ...

I remember riding on the butterfly disk we had when I was a kid. I can't imagine letting my kids ride on a disk now! Seconds away from a tragedy. Safety has come a long way

I use to pick stones with our old D and a stone boat when i was young..Those old tractors have their own character..Ours would not turn when you put a load on it..I took a bit of brain power to operate..

Yes, some of these old D's run so smoothly and others are more of a hit and miss

Great work! Btw, that’s how I measure the amount of gas in my tractors too, with smooth wooden sticks like that. lol

Sounds great to me. Looks good too. 👍 My Grandpa measured the gas in his tractor like that too.

She may run a little rough but it sure gets the job done.

Yup. We have always talked about overhauling it, but since it just keeps on going, we have never gotten around to it. Maybe one day we'll get the D to run as well as all our other tractors.

That D is really nice. I have one of my own that I need to get running and I was wondering what size battery you have in this one?

It's not the smoothest, but it never quits.

How many liters of gas was consumed in these two hours?
@jonelsonster Жыл бұрын
2 or 3 gallons. Not exactly sure. But you can see the fuel level change on the sick at the end.

Yes, this tractor has never run smoothly... But since it always runs and pulls what we put behind it then we haven't messed around with it.
@tractordan933 Жыл бұрын
Wow, does that tractor always run that rough? Sounds worse than the old 1947 G I grew up with. Sure started easy though.
@jonelsonster Жыл бұрын
Under load it runs a little better... But for the most part, yes, it runs rough. 😄
