Thanks my wife was mowing (Great Wife) the belt came off I came in watched you. The part about loosening the pulleys was the part that helped the most for me. I didn't finish watching all the video I got what I needed. Thanks, also you showing the gx21395 I went right to Amazon to purchase it a lot cheaper than local with free shipping. Good video. I have one that slips all the time on this mower. I have never had to loosen the bolts though.

The advice to loosen the the pulleys was excellent. The routing was guidance was excellent. As as Dennis advises, we should tighten the pulleys before starting and testing. The video was VERY helpful, and I hope you'll provide more JD-D170 maintenance advice. Thanks for the video - stay in the game!

How do you remove the deck?

There are 5 cotterpins. Two at the back of the deck on each side in front of the rear tires and one pin at the front in the center. Pull all those and the deck comes right off. Takes no more than 5 minutes to separate the deck from the machine.
