what brand belt is that and has it lasted through a lot of mowing with minimal wear? John deere brand belt is too expensive for me.

i understand the pattern but , does the belt sit against the pullies on the flat side or the "v" side?

Wondering the same thing. Watched a diff video where commenters said they put it on backwards. And another comment saying to put the FLAT/larger side against the LARGE pulleys. V-shapes side against the SMALLER pulleys. Which kind of makes sense. If you look at the larger pulleys, you can see that the notch is deeper, so the V-shape sits in them better. Hope everything worked out okay. And hope I put mine on correctly lolol

I bought a new deck belt and it keeps falling off the back pulleys when I test it. Do they pulley covers keep the belt from falling of or is my belt a blem? Belt adjuster is maxed.

That means it's too loose. You need to tighten it up via that cable that he showed on the vid, but didn't explain how to do so, at the end. It looks like a bicycle brake cable so probably the same way, you have to pull the belt tight, hold the tension then tighten up (first it needs to be loose) the nut that secures the adjustment.

I bought a 103" belt for my 42" l111 and it's too big? And your 104" fits.

Just double check the site you got it from that its made for your John Deere model.. This isnt the specific belt i used, but i just searched what i searched before and posted it here as i wasnt sure of the size. If youve done that and checked the model number on the website... Double check you have the belt in the right way. Also something to remember, the belts will sit slightly loose when you dont have the blades engaged. But when you engage blades it tightens, causing the blades to spin... If the belt is too tight to begin with, the blades will engage all the time and you wont be able to stop them spinning. I just double checked another website for my model... And it says 103 and 3/4 ". In australia we dont use inches... But it seems it should be the right length for your model if you have a john deere. So just triple check if the belt has been put on right. if it has, try turning on and engaging blades. There's a tensioner pulley that should tension it as well, make sure thats right. Hope it helps!
