Very much appreciate this video. My X304 has been cutting out when mowing...I suspected the seat switch was going bad. This simple over ride solved the problem. Same with the reverse - over rode them both in about 5 minutes - makes mowing much easier and more efficient!

Have x320 for 8 years and wanted to stop blade from cutting in reverse. Worked great, thanks

Thx so much. I looked everywhere for a "how to vid" for my x324. Your's was the only one that addresses the issue with this type of electric pto switch. Thx so much!!!

I have a LT150 John Deere automatic and I made a jumper for the push button on the dash in order to bypass the need to use the button when going in reverse with the deck engaged. I was still having trouble with the engine wanting to kill while trying to go in reverse and I followed the linkage from the reverse pedal to the rear drive area and replaces a switch that is mounted inside the right rear tire and now I have fixed my kill in reverse with the deck running.I did remove the R/R tire in order to access the switch. works great now!

re the seat sensor, you can always just apply the park break and the engine will continue to run

bobjohn3003 My craftsman...actually they're all the same now thanks to stupid people not having enough common sense to stop the damn thing before getting on or off, or disengaging the PTO before getting off the equipment.

This is probably the one safety I advise (seat switch). If you ever tipped one of these tractors over while the mower was engaged (I did, once) you'll know why you want that engine to stop. Immediately!

If you're mowing at an angle that could flip the mower, you deserve to be eaten by the blades.
@mic982
@mic982 2 жыл бұрын
@@Derkiesmefpipe Ouch! And if you're mowing too close to the bank and it caves off - you're mowing too close to the edge. Yeah, that's what the distraught wife told me. You do know that these types of mowers are favored by some landscapers over the zero-turn mowers precisely because they are safer on slopes and less prone to turning over, right? Sometimes slopes need mowing too.

Because its so hard to push the brake pedal down and pull up the lock if you want to get off the machine with it running.....

Does the p.t.o clutch got eney thang to do Witt the speed forward and revers it is so slow
@JaneBreau
@JaneBreau 8 жыл бұрын
All you have to do is put the clutch in. put the lock on and put it in neutral. Then you can get up with the motor still running. At least that is how my JD works.

This mower doesn’t have a clutch. It’s a hydrostatic.

the reverse over ride switch is easier then that I just stick my key bob under mine while im mowing then I don't have to worrie you went threw way to much work
@fishin360

that is what i do. I just tied a string to key ring and to the rubber John Deere thing and jam it under switch. This way if i do need to kill the blades you can still smash it down. But i will do the jumper under seat.

I don't disable the safety features because they are there for a reason. Disabling these features is pretty defeating the purpose of the safety features being there. What if you fall on the tractor with the mower running? That would not be a very pretty site. The safety features are there for a reason and you should never let your little kids operate the tractor to begin with. Only responsible people should operate the tractor after being educated about the safety of the tractor

***** If you fall off a riding mower you probably shouldn't be using it in the first place. They have gotten way too carried away with these stupid nannies, same goes for cars with all the stupid safety features. Rather than letting Darwin clean up the gene-pool they keep coming up with ways to keep the stupid people around.
@kubotaman85

William Todd the safety features are there just in case that you was to fall off or tip the tractor over. Yes I agree kids shouldnt operate a tractor but that is up to the parents

***** Those seat switches are very dangerous. If you aren't allowed to lean or scoot your but over, you will roll the machine. You have no choice but to bypass these switches in order to mow any lawn that isn't flat as a pancake. I can see a switch that makes sure you are on the mower, but to expect you to always be sitting in the very CENTER of the seat is very dangerous.
@kubotaman85

Cotronixco that is defeating the purpose of the safety feature. You shouldn't be mowing sideways on a hill
@Cotronixco
@Cotronixco 9 жыл бұрын
***** No, the purpose of the "safety" feature is to reduce the frequency of potential lawsuits. Your idea of turning around a hundred times on a hill or sliding down a hill while mowing with turf tires is even more dangerous than mowing parallel along the hillside. Inexperience=ignorance.

I think when you jump the wires like that you have a continuous run of current going to your battery and will make your battery die when not running and over work your stator
