Thank you for posting these videos. I am now purchasing a used X590 (40 hours) tomorrow.

I noticed the cultivator was swaying. It will run straight if the bolts on either side of the pin are adjusted and locked in place. I have a manual sleeve hitch on a 345 Deere, which is the grand daddy of the 500 series of tractors.

Thanks for the videos, very helpful - I just ordered a x590, should pick it up next weekend.

mcgunner02 I’m not sure what attachments will work with the new X590’s.

The brinly cultivators do a great job, I have an older one that I put 4"plow shares on and it digs into the ground pretty deep. Did you prep your garden with the cultivator?'
@West.Property.Management7 жыл бұрын
No, I used the 42" hydraulic tiller to work the garden. This is our first year at our new home, so it was sod just a few months ago. The cultivator did great, except next year we will plant the corn rows at normal width. Take a look at the 71 planter we attached to the 590!

I'm still trying to find one of these JD power integral hitches for my 590. Was yours purchased directly from a JD dealer?

What's a 'normal width' on the corn rows?

If you had turn shovels on the outside of the cultivator it would pull dirt to the corn.

I can’t remember what you told me last year about why you bought a extra yoke? Could the entire tiller yoke assembly not be just re used? Are different length yokes needed?
@West.Property.Management6 жыл бұрын
John Mitchell If I remember right, the yoke I purchased for the planter and cultivator was bigger in diameter to help with the extra weight.

Blended Farms, LLC Ok that makes since I was curious. I’m just now installing my tiller and I’m also going to be using my sleeve hitch to use my moldboard plow.

John Mitchell This system worked great, just put a ton of hours on the X590. We added a 1025R last spring, and that helped a ton. We decided to get out of the chicken and organic garden business for a few years so we can enjoy our property with our 5 young children. So last fall I traded in the 1025R for a Z950R, and cut my mowing down from almost 5 hours, to under 2 hours. Good luck!!!

What planter did you use? There's some bad gaps.
@West.Property.Management7 жыл бұрын
Captainpegs07 An Earthway seeder. If you have a lot of clay, I would not recommend that unit at all. Check out our other video using an old John Deere 71 to plant the rest of our corn! We had a few misses with the 71 as well, but that was my fault not putting enough seed in the can.

After installing the hitch, did you mess with the steering hardware as well (hitch instructions wanted me to do that, but I wonder how necessary it actually is).
@West.Property.Management6 жыл бұрын
Bobby I’m not exactly sure what steering hardware that you are referring to? The hydraulic lift bar from my tiller was already installed, so I just used that to attach the yoke from the hitch to. So I didn’t even open the owner’s manual on the hitch.

Blended Farms, LLC ah.. I bought the power integral hitch after I got the x590 and installed it (attach lift bar to hydraulic actuator then just the hitch itself). Instructions also called for a slight modification to the steering stop

Bobby Well, I sure missed that then! I wonder why? The next time I go into JD I’ll ask. It will be a few years until I start the big garden up again.

Do you have a part # for the extra yoke?
@West.Property.Management Жыл бұрын
I apologize for the late response, we’ve been away from KZfaq for a long time. We sold this unit with our property, so I can’t answer that unfortunately. If I recall, I measured the length I needed, and my local dealer had one in stock.

Hang some suit case weights on the implement and it will work 100 times better
@West.Property.Management7 жыл бұрын
PhatboyHD88 This was the first run with the cultivator, and the second time we did add a little weight. Makes a huge difference! This year we added a 1025R, so it has taken over most of the garden duties.

I just don't see the value. This stuff adds up to thousands of dollars just to put a few little scratches in the ground like a rake. Just doesn't seem like the results are worth the money it costs for all the equipment.
