Thanks. I always pressure wash it really good twice a season. Once in the middle of summer and in the fall just before I put it up for winter.

III pressure wash mine after each mowing and it didn’t look that nice after the first mowing! Great job!

Thanks for watching Mike, I'll be making a video showing the mower installation as soon as the weather isn't threatening snow in the forecast. It's fairly simple though I have learned a couple of tricks necessary for installation with the three point hitch installed.

Thanks for watching the video Kent. Since the spindles are designed to turn at 3600 rpm under load of cutting grass I don't think the tension of the belt over the winter without any load is going to be a problem. If a wear issue presents itself in the future I'll update the video.

@@twotonebrute it's more for the belt so it doesn't go through too many thermal alternations without moving while in tension so the fibers & it's other components don't adopt the current shape after being stationary for way too long. It shouldn't be troublesome to just release the spring of the tensioning pulley if you do it right.

John Deere recommends an 80W/90 gear oil. Obviously they want you to use their oils and lubricants but any quality gear oil in that weight will work. I believe the gear box only holds between 8 and 9 ounces of oil. Also John Deere recommends changing the oil every 200 hours of service.

I also want to get a tiller. I discovered a couple of month ago John Deere offers a hydraulic run tiller that would work great without the need for a rear PTO which I don't have. The hydraulic unit is more expensive but you save the cost of the rear pto and install so it ends up being less cost in the end. I'm leaning that direction.
