Yes check the dipstick, it tells you how to check the oil level. Do not screw it in.

Also, you shouldn't screw in the oil cap/ dipstick when checking oil level!

Our deere has 2 reservoirs for trans oil. How often do you change that? also, it says 10w-30. Is that right? The level is so far down, you can hardly see the line. I would have thought you'd use trans oil. ??? Or even if there is a difference. I don't know. ????

did you realise the spindle bearings are sealed and greasing is pointless? I found out the hard way!
