He kept trying to retire in Australia but we wouldn’t let him. He did so many “this is the last one” tours 😂 if he announced a concert today it would be sold out in seconds. It’s 4am in Australia and I woke up feeling “blue” with all the BS going on in the world and you just gave me 13 minutes of sunshine (and it’s pouring rain even) So grateful xx

Actually, Phil Buckle, the guitarist in this video, wrote the song. He was in the band Southern Sons, and wrote this, but they had the song Hold Me in Your Arms, which the band thought was too similar

'He can take you there' - that's about the best description of what Farnsey does I've heard yet. And you're absolutely right - he can belt it out with his ridiculous range enough to blast you into the stratosphere one minute, and sing so gently it's enough to bring you to tears the next. THAT'S talent. And, in his 70s now, he can STILL do it. Amazing performer.

When touring, John liked to drink with his crew after the show (scotch or bourbon I think). It was shown in a video on his tour. He was also a smoker but after I had a lung test after smoking for 40 years, I had good lungs and when I asked the woman testing me why my lungs were okay, she said 'It's in the genes'. I guess John has good genes and he was destined to be an extraordinary singer.

Loving your reviews man. I grew up with this music as an Aussie kid in the 80s and 90s. It’s so nice to hear it fresh through you.

Check out John singing Gesthmane, Jesus Christ Superstar. Now that's impressive. Absolutely our greatest male singer in Australia but we haven't always appreciated him. He was broke in the 80s, nearly stopped singing. What a crime that would have been. Radio stations wouldn't play him after his run in Little River Band, until finally You're the Voice broke through.

We Aussies have loved John Farnham for a long long time. Sadly he developed throat cancer and has had major surgery. Praying that his recovery is going really well. He is much loved. 🙏🏼❤️

John always injects such emotion to the lyrics and this song demonstrates it beautifully - just John and a guitar. Was a hit for John when released and popular at his concerts. Beautifully performed. Love that you love our John and his unmistakable talent.
