The John Ford Stock Company is the name given to the collection of actors used repeatedly in the films of director John Ford. I got curious so I looked it up. John Ford directed over 140 films. It's no wonder he got so good at it with all that practice;). Even Spielberg has only directed 34.

I was surprised of a few actors not on list Paul Fix Noah Berry Jr I guess they were not in enough Ford films to qualify.

Ford trivia: His first talking picture was The Black Watch with Victor McLaglen and a woman whose character was named Yasmani ( although Ford called her Yas. The character got killed, but the name Yas stuck and became her nickname for the rest of her life. The actress? Myrna Loy.

Ford could be the 'worst' (behavior) yet bring out the best in his actors/crew. Complex genius. I love the fight scene you showed between Jeffrey Hunter and Ken Curtis. The gentlemanly behavior (taking the hat, helping with the coat, the thanks) portrayed a different era of values. Yet they were still men who would fight for what they believed in....

I saw the Wagon Train episode. Bond died two weeks before airing. Oddly enough Ford did two baseball TV shows.Flashing spikes starring James Stewart ( cameo by Wayne). Rookie of the Year ( Wayne and Ward Bond).
