A really positive and enjoyable video, thank you @Stories Collector. Frusciante would be uncomfortable on top of a pedestal, but I’m sure he’d be happy to know he inspires so many of us to try and become the best artists we can be. Speaking personally, his dedication to art has helped inspire me as a portrait painter; I’ve painted JF’s portrait many times over - he’s my muse, and I’m truly grateful for having learned about him and to have been able to follow his creative life.

Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T Shirt is on my mount rushmore of albums. It is amazing in so many ways, so underrated, and overall just such a unique piece of art. I also love other stuff by John like Shadows Collide With People, and especially his work with the Chilis too. He's so widely known for his pop/rock hits with RHCP but there's so much more depth to his music that most people aren't aware of. He's the reason I started playing guitar and he's changed my outlook on life, music, and art in general forever. John Frusciante is the man

Even when I didn´t include Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T Shirt in to the video I have "soft spot" for this album as it is his first and the emotions in it are so raw that it is an unbelievably beautiful work. It absolutely goes to the bone and offers all emotions in the purest form. I think that this is its biggest assets. For me personally, this album is hard to listen to when I know in what condition John was and with what purpose he recorded it, but its artistic quality cannot be denied. Album is gem, but there are few songs that are not easy to listen to. 😁

Thank you, I share your love and respect for John. I enjoy the RHCP very much but itʼs Johnʼs solo music, and who he seems to be, that inspires and lifts me up every single day.

2004 was probably the strongest year as there were released two of my favorite albums from John, The Will to Death and Shadows Collide with People. 2005 Curtains and 2009 The Empyrean are also really exceptional.

Even with rhcp, I find and found Johns Solo Work is more creativity, I would say🙂

interesting point, for me it´s hard to tell as it´s difficult to compare dynamics between 4 people and one person, when art is created. But partly this may be true, as John has a free hand in his work and many times it can be alternative, create songs without vocals and he can experiment with different lengths and elements in the songs. Chili Peppers as a mainstream band can't afford this too much, since they have a big label behind them that also expects certain commercial success of the record. They certainly create freely from the heart and change their sound many times, but at the same time they know what is expected of them, that the songs will have a verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, etc. 😁 or some other basic structures, which could limit creativity.

@@Stories_Collector in the days of shadows collide records till the empyrean it was often a combination of josh klinghoffer, for most of his parts, omar for some tracks and also chad & flea were also on some of his solo stuff😃The dynamic between john and josh was a different beast but I love it🙂that's why the solo records are different in a whole new way🤔

@@FarmerSlideJoeBob thats true 😁I mean it that way that John have last word on how it will looks like, like he was a main man a it was his project so there wasn't any compromises on how final concept will looks like. Compare to Chili Peppers where he is only 1/4 of whole and compromises between many ideas are the main force that create final product. 😁 Fun Fact what I read many years ago, that on one of John´s solo album Chad oferes that he will recorded drums and John was like, I am good, thanks but I prefer drum machine for this 😅

Thanks man! I picked up guitar 15 years ago because of John´s music and I am playing regularly to this day.. so yeah :D I spend a lot of time watching his stuff :D Outro of this song is my own melody what I composed 2 years ago when I was learning basics in Abletone. Here is a link for the entire melody: soundcloud.com/user-862040782/chromatic-divine?si=bb39b96d7cb042ad813cdd8323a1c767&
