I really love the fact that John Hargrove is doing his all to make a change to these beautiful creatures. Funny thing is, I'm the same exact way. I watched Free Willy as a child at age 6 or 7 and thought "hey I wanna train orcas!". I never knew the truth until Blackfish. I always talked about SeaWorld and wanting to go more and more when I was older (after Blackfish was released) and my mom wasn't very fond of the thought and neither was my dad. In the past they were fine (I went when I was about 4 or 5 for the first time in around 2004-2005 and didn't pay attention to orcas until I saw Free Willy around 2006-2007) but around age 13 or 14, my parents weren't very excited and started suggesting I be a beluga or dolphin trainer, not an orca trainer. I kept telling her about my love of orcas and etc. but she still didn't like the idea. I later on came across Blackfish and asked my mom about it and she said "it's great but I wouldn't watch it until I think you're ready" and I kept asking her questions. She eventually just said "SeaWorld isn't really what you think it is". Not many months later after that, I asked about watching Blackfish again (this was maybe many months or so before my birthday and I was going to SeaWorld and ended up going a second time the same week with my best friend), and she let me and said "you need to know the truth and now is the time" (something along those lines) since I was going to SeaWorld for my birthday. I sat in the living room, turned on Netflix, and watched Blackfish for the first time. I really didn't know what to expect, but after multiple times I gasped, cried, screamed "why the hell do they do this to them?!" (the orcas) I finally realized everything and that my mom was indeed right. I didn't realize what these poor animals went thru until that moment. Yeah, I went two more times (my birthday and with my best friend the same week) but it was more like me seeing it in the eyes of someone who knows what's going on and not what SeaWorld wants you to think. It's not nice, not friendly, not anything good but just a complete lie to the whole damn public. Blackfish was a big eye opener for me and so many others and I'm so glad I saw Blackfish. I am currently 21 and haven't been to SeaWorld since I went with my best friend in around 2015 or so. I want to help make a change with captivity as well as Mr. Hargrove is. I haven't been able to read the book yet due to my ADHD but I am going to buy it sometime soon and sit down and read it. Honestly, I hope all of this captivity nonsense comes to an end. Orcas are way too big for these confined tiny tanks. I'm just glad things are being done finally.

Oh thank you for the fight for these magnificent creatures!!!!! It took the killings of two trainers for you to open your heart and what goes on behind the scenes that this isn't right... may God be under your wings and may everyone keep praying to free the orcas but also to stop all the torture on any creature in captivity and to put an end to corrupted laws !

I personally think they should let all the whales free! and back to there families. How would it feel if someone abducted you? These animals are highly intelligent they miss there families. SeaWorld does not need killer whales to make money I'm willing to bet there ticket sales will go up 5x if they set them free.

he interviewed for blackfish a week after he quit kind of weird. He’s a disgruntled ex employee. guess what homophobia and racial slurs are done in every job believe it or not.

I think all killer whale handlers and their employer should do it all for free, and not charge the public .....because they LOVE the whales "SO MUCH"....... But, I wonder if they would continue to harm the whale in such a discussing manner, if it were for the love, and for free?.......NO! It's always, always was, always will be about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$! WE are ALL to blame for this! No one is excused?............. It makes me upset, with a very neutral mindset; how discussing we are as a species? Shame on us.......BUT, we can always redeem ourselves?....a little anyway?..

I always wonder how is it possible to do these shows go live with out any safety measures I really cant think how evilish this company is the and who is that dumbass multimillionaire who earned his money through such sins !!!! Ridiculous !!! The trainers are subjected to the shows with out a ny proper safety gears !!!! Seriously oly an evil person can have this kind of idea !!!
