My aunty married Cynthia's brother Tony. I met Cynthia and John at that wedding. I was introduced to John with the words "He's in a group and they've made a record." I was just a boy in short trousers but from that introduction I followed the Beatles avidly.I watched "Love me do" go up the charts as far as number 17. The above photo of Cynthia is a superb photo she is absolutely stunning.. It is on record that George also fancied Cynthia and my aunty has stated on more than one occasion that Paul said "How about you and me Cyn?" when she split with John. In the interview she says she had no family at her wedding to John and there were no photographers there. In her book she has a drawing of the wedding showing her brother Tony and my aunty in the picture, the only surviving witnesses to the wedding are Paul McCartney and my aunty.

"Flawed" is an excellent way to describe John Lennon. Thank God, Cynthia's character was not flawed, and she was able to raise Julian to become a beautiful, intelligent, clear-thinking man, as we can see from the interview he gave on the podcast I just watched. It is pitiful that John lived at the whim of Yoko Ono, a selfish, obviously very jealous woman. It is good that John was with May for a time so that she could promote good feelings between John and Julian.

@@SuperAnimelover100 You shouldn't say that about her! You see John Lennon just wanted to date Cynthia. He wasn't in love with her. She tricked him and got pregnant then he married her! John thought he was too young to get married but he didn't want his son to grow up to be a bastard! And John Lennon lost his mother at a young age she didn't want him around because of her boyfriend and his father left him when he was small and return when he was famous! That's the way it was with John Lennon those are the facts! John Lennon needed a mother figure that's why he married Yoko plus she was 10 years older him. He needed that to survive! @@TimLondonGuitarist I think your summation is a bit harsh. He MAY not have been as talented as his father but then again--who is? There is a whole lot of room for talent to manifest between a no talent person and a John Lennon. Furthermore, considering how remarkable the likeness is between Julian and John, I don't think Julian had to "try" to sound like his father -- all he had to do was open his mouth.

@@Toberofthetrees There's not much room: I used to be a live music promoter. The opportunites for 'artists' who prefer to write their own songs etc are very limited: nobody wants to know about them except their mates, unless you've got a famous parent or similar

@@TimLondonGuitarist I understand what you mean on this note. It is undeniable that having a famous someone or notoriety for pretty much any reason is a MAJOR advantage. I heard that was why Slash kept his identity a bit under wraps until they achieved a little success. He didn't want anyone claiming nepotism or undue help because of his parent's connections. I do want to clarify one thing. When I said there was a lot of room, I wasn't referring to a lot of room for a lot of people to succeed. I meant that the evaluation of Julian's talent was not black and white between is he as talented as his father or not. John is gifted at the far end of the bell curve. Almost no one is, was, or will be as talented. Julian's talent can be a few levels beneath John's or even a bunch of levels beneath John's and still be significant when compared to Joe Blow from Cocomo.

@@Toberofthetrees The Slash parents worked in peripheral roles in the recording industry. He could've got contacts there but not the job with GnR. John Lennon was with Cynthia Lennon for as many years, if not more , than he was with the other woman he later married. He even left that other woman for a year or two for yet another woman in the early 70's. The other woman's name was May Pang, I think. The whole Yoko/John thing is a myth. Nobody would even know who Yoko Ono was if she hadn't manipulated her way into Lennon's life. The fact that Julian Lennon had to buy back the letters his Father and he sent to each other is sickening. I wish the media would stop giving 0no press. I respect Cynthia Lennon for making it clear that the book she wrote was a one time thing. Yoko Ono,'on the other hand crawls out of her lair at every opportunity to capitalize on Lennon's legacy. I really respected Cynthia Lennon for her grace and elegance. May she fly with the angels now.

+Alison Cain you say it best Yoko is a creepy manipulator. A few years ago there was an exhibit at the Rock & Roll hall of fame annex in New York City. I live near it so we went a few times and started to speak to the staff about John & his things. They told me how horrible Yoko was & very mean. There was a white phone in the exhibit that was a direct line from Yokos home to the exhibit. When it rang it could be answered by anyone nearest to it fan or staff. The staff refused to answer it because she was such a bitch. Verbally abusive & nasty. She would insist on firing employees she deemed unworthy. These people were sick of her. Cynthia seems like a very down to earth, kind woman.

However the music industry has a lot to answer for. The groupies have a lot to answer for. Cynthia has dignity and an overview. I wonder if she had to live life again, would she ask to be with one of these guys. I certainly wouldn’t. My opinion of John changed when I read that he had told Julian when he was little that he was a mistake. Most children are not planned, but what a thing to say to your kid.
