Few people in the world have stayed as true as Black Label Skateboards founder and sole owner, John Lucero. John and Black Label have given so much to skateboarding over the last 30 plus years, so to re-launch the brand at CCS we decided to get a quick run-through of the history of Label from John himself. Black Label was my first board.I took a 20 year break, then bought another for my return to skateboarding. These decks just bring me back.

Just ordered my second skate board of all time. First was a Lucero in the late 80s, now an Auby Taylor Grateful Sled. Couldn't find any Black Label in Minneapolis, so I went directly online. This is the best skate board gear of all time, and I might need to explore opening my own shop and start distributing.

Back to 1998, I got a black label skateboard after my second deck which was a Powell double kick cab pro model.

John Lucero is the real deal. He means alot. Not only is he a ripper but he kept it going. I used to hang out & party with an older dude nicknamed Luce back in the mid 80s. Being a skater, I asked him if his last name was Lucero. He flipped out & nearly kicked my ass. Turns out, Luce was short for Lucifer. Really nice guy though. Just a little nuts.

Does anyone know how much concave Black Label decks generally have - full, medium or shallow? I'm considering the Flammable Blue deck.

The ones i used to ride 15 years ago were a medium. I really loved the boards, actually my favorite brand of all time.

Just bought a lucero board, the backwards name with the cross, in yellow stain with a pink cross. The label kills!!!

I know it's late, but Black Label was one of my fave brands. Plus! They were the ONLY brand, other than Powell that put out really good blank boards. We were broke ghetto kids BGK! Lol. Anyway, a cheap new blank was better than dumpster diving the local shop. Thanks Label team, some good years boys!!

You can get em online, but if you have a cool local shop in your town you may be able to find a few. I just got one

The only other decks I trusted other than alien workshop. If they didn't have alien workshops, I got a black label. Simple as that.

Just ordered a deck...not because of this video, or maybe because this video broke the camel's back. Also, because of the 35 year -legacy and because of curbs and because I was researching Black Label skateboards and was struck.
