When You pray a prayer and God hear and accept it - „Your” truly good. He is Savior. It’s other topic on other level. Problem is with externality, thoughtlessness and finally lack of His Word, truly repentance and conversion.

That is what the Catholic Church has been preaching for 1900 years before MacArthur was born -- MacArthur picks and chooses what he likes from the bible and often contradicts it ! Take the 14 passages in the bible that support the Sacrament of the Eucharist (Start with John 6 ) ... All he can come up with is "Catholicism / the Priest takes Jesus down from the cross and sacrifices him again and again " When it is explained in the Catholic Eucharistic prayer "... as we join in this ONE living and perfect sacrifice ... "

Also: It is something „pathological”, probably caused of rationalism and other trash things of modern culture with „knowing about being saved”. No. „Being saved” can’t be empiricaly checked. We are not called to „know about being saved”. Being saved is all about FAITH. So this „certainty of salvation” also. You are simply believing in God and trust Him - or You just trying to rationaly, rationalise, explain and understand everything. And finally - His grace, souverign decisions and acting… which is imo kinda dangerous direction. Don’t try to play God. Fruit of knowlenge is sweet - but killing. Trust Him.

Is it really that bad for people to have doubts about their salvation? We are supposed to work it out with fear and trembling after all. I know if I were a false convert, I would prefer to hear a hard message and be genuinely converted then the alternative (h-e double hockey sticks)

Your desire for wanting to walk in obedience and obeying his commandments is the Evidence of Christ work through you Even devils believe so if someone believes in Christ and does not have those evidence manifesting by the work of Christ, then these individuals are living in deception by them own selves which is what Christ pointed out and repeated on many occassion. It is related to what paul warned about Faith without works is dead -john:3(forgot verse number) Not by our works but the work of Christ through us.

HE'S lead me, through the Spirit of God that is in him, out of false doctrine and all questions of so-called salvation .Maybe you should examine yourself in light of 1John to see if you are truly in the faith
