I envied a friend who had a deep faith and told him, I wish I could be like him. He told me just to talk to God and ask Him for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Many weeks later, I realised I had no more doubts. There wasn't an eureka moment but I prayed daily.

I've started reading the book 'The Gospel According to Jesus" and one very helpful part to accepting Jesus as Lord is the fact that there's no such thing as a fully autonomous individual who is his own master. We are already slaves to something or someone I the inevitable sense, so it us better to be a slave to Christ than a slave to short term hedonistic desire that inevitably leads to despair.

I came to a faith in my 20's which disspelled the doctrines of going to heaven and or hell. It derived instead from a translation of hell both in hebrew and greek. Hell often in the OT is referring to The Grave " wither thou goest ", a dark place . And heaven going, was not a place after death, instead the resurrection from the grave where believers are asleep " in Christ " as Jesus said of Lazarus. And at that time judgement, then Armaggedon where Jesus fights a Spiritual war with those he has saved, after a time, Jesus becomes King and rules from Israel . Much is omitted for sake of brevity. John MacArthur has a lot of value to say about God's Word I like his direct sometimes sombre way. I have begun a mission of sorts to come to really know God's son Jesus Christ . I am in conflict however. I want so much to talk to Jesus. Yet I believe Jesus is The Way to The Father and not to be prayed to but pray Through. I am very unsure how exactly to " Come unto Me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest unto your souls ..." I poured my heart out to Christ a while back for the first time and was filled with a joy I can not explain. However the following occasion I was filled with dread. And stopped . Returning again to pray to our Father The God of Israel. As a female now much older I am a very emotional person by nature, and long for a close relationship with, or to GOD and His son Jesus Christ. I was taught not to regard God as a Trinity. But 1 God. The God of the Israelites. For many years a daily series of spiritual battles take place within me. I do acknowledge Evil and I know there is an Adversary against God whom God gives permission to Test those whom God chooses to have tested. These attacks come qhen I want only to draw near to God and to or theough His son Jesus also . It is near impossible to discuss this with anyone. I write about it here because this is a Spiritual bible aware and honouring channel -. If others have experienced similarly or see flaws in my current spuritual approach please say what you think , with respectfulness. That would be so appreciated. I have been struggling in the dark of depressions, so hearing what the Gospel Is, reminds me of the Hope Jesus offers, through all he endured for the sake of all who want to follow after him and put their own flesh to death daily too. I lost all hope recently. For which I feel ashamed over . God is continually good and beyond patient in my circumstances . He has brought me low. And is breaking me. But I want Him to . GOD is our Potter. I dont go to church anymore. I found many were as disordered as the natural family I needed to leave. And did not find real friendship in church. Like many I have much to learn. And many errors in my thinking. Thank you for this upload with interview. And warmest best to all.

(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused) Kind Sir John MacArthur...I had a "Christian Room" on the Web. And one day; a Lady came in. And in a few minutes; she did NOT like what I was saying. So she said, "Pat, where do you get your Authority?" I said, "Jesus". She said, "I KNOW that; but I want the Ultimate Authority?". I said, "Jesus". She got so mad she left FAST! Then about 2 weeks, a Gentilemen came in. And in a few minutes; he said, "Pat what is the Gospel?" I said, "Jesus". He said "I KNOW that; but I want Full Gospel?". I said, "Jesus". He got so mad, I do believe He would've killed me; if he could! The End of the story, and I rest me case... ...in any case Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!

But most people in the West are not interested in living in heaven for eternity, because they doubt whether there is an afterlife. What they are interested in is whether following Jesus will improve their lives in the here and now, because they know 100% that they are alive. Jesus spoke more than anything else about the Kingdom of God, and he said that the KoG is “within you” (correct translation of original Greek). And Jesus’ sermons and parables, and his disputes with the Pharisees all point to how the Kingdom grows within (and then outwards). And Jesus’ guidanace should be trusted, as his healings point to his Messiah status. All these things are the real Good News.

John MacArthur has been blessed by the Lord Jesus to pursue the knowledge of our Lord's Word. His zealousness and commitment to that end deserve our honor and respect. As to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus... Our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus had an eternal plan of redemption for mankind following mankind's partaking of the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That is, the Lord had an eternal plan that He predestined for His future sons and daughters since before He created Creation or initiated Day 1... That eternal plan predestined the Lord Jesus Himself to be crucified by His own future sons and daughters in the most tortuous and ignominious way on a cross. By doing that, the Lord Jesus disarmed all the rulers and authorities in the heavenlies above and on the earth below by declaring that He had overcome all of mankind's sins through the Cross. He did that to make known to His future eternal sons and daughters that they were forgiven of all of their sins through the Cross... That is, the Cross represents to all of His future eternal sons and daughters that our Lord had been willing to sacrifice Himself for the forgiveness of all of their sins since before the creation of Creation. He was willing to do that in order to bring forth for Himself sons and daughters who were truly made in His image. Such a sacrifice demonstrates boundless love for His future eternal sons and daughters... The Lord Jesus did that for us! Now, that eternal plan of redemption of mankind had been kept hidden for ages from the rulers and authorities in the heavenlies above and the earth below, including mankind. That was necessary so that at the proper time, our Lord Jesus's sacrifice for mankind would be revealed to all of Creation, including His future eternal sons and daughters. But, we know that there are many among us who remain in unbelief of these things. Therefore, Lord Jesus also predestined some from among the many to be believers so that we would represent the first fruits from among the many sons and daughters who were to come... If we were predestined to believe from among the many, then we testify about the Gospel that is to come... That is, we died with Christ Jesus on the Cross and were raised with Him to eternal life through His resurrection. Having died like this, we know that we are the first fruits from among the many sons and daughters who are to come... So then, there is a Day of the Lord to come when our Lord Jesus will be revealed in all of His glory, and all of His sons and daughters will be made known to all of Creation. As to the Lord Jesus's glory... Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is the Lord to the glory of the Father. As to the Lord Jesus's sons and daughters... In a flash, in the twinkling of the Lord's eye, all will be made incorruptible and immortal. Then all of the Lord's eternal sons and daughters together along with their Lord Jesus will live forever in a new heavens and a new earth... What a Gospel our Lord Jesus has made known to us who believe. Rejoice then, all of us should be rejoicing... Our Lord, God, Savior, and Creator Jesus had an eternal plan of redemption all along! That is our Gospel.

If you trust the Gospel and the Words of Christ Jesus then you will know that easter actually hasn't anything to do with Christ Jesus. In Matthew 12:40 Christ Jesus said this, "As Jonah was in the belly of the great fish 3 days and 3 nights I too will be in the bowels of the Earth 3 days and three nights" Christ Jesus did not say 3 days and TWO nights. Trust in the Word of Christ Jesus not the word of the world and a chocolate bunny

The blood of Christ is what cover us so that God no longer sees our sins, but the righteousness of Christ. The blood of the Lamb like in Exodus, is what allows us to be passed over for the wrath and punishment of God in hell. Then the Holy Spirit in believers is who gives them the power to walk in a manner worthy of the gospel. Shalom.

Neighbor, salvation, if one receives it, is the love of God. The grace of God is to grant faith in Christ, to grant repentance, a turning away from sin, the evidence of true conversion. For God to save anyone of us wretched sinners, arrogant, mean, prideful, lustful, violent, hateful, disrespectful and ungrateful people, and with the blood of His only Begotten Son, is more loving than anyone on this earth could ever be. And if anyone is in Christ, they are instantly anointed by the Spirit of God at the moment they believe. That's what David meant when He said, "You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. The Holy Spirit is the overflowing oil neighbor. Shalom.

A calvinist approaching a person to preach the gospel: "Hi! I don't know if God loves you, the most probable thing is that He hates you. I also don't know if He died for you in the cross, only a very few were chosen, but I’ll tell you a beautiful story. Listen!" We need urgently to bring back the *powerful, simple and true gospel* summarized in *John 3:16.*

This is a rather uncharitable characterization of the Calivinist position. We see two verses later that all people exist in a state of condemnation by default (John 3:18). Their acceptance of the gospel through faith cannot be of themselves as we see in Ephesians 2:1-10. It is God's grace and His love for us which causes Him to intervene in our lives at all. There is scriptural support for the position of God's sovereign election (Romans 8:29-30 being the most explicit). The point being, even if you disagree with the concept of predestination there is still the question of God's foreknowledge and the fact that even without predestination, whether or not someone truly accepts the gospel is an unknown to outside observers anyway. I hope that you understand I am not trying to be combative, I greet you as a fellow brother in Christ, but there is a general gross oversimplification of the positions of Calvinism, of which predestination was not even the primary distinction between it and other theological propositions of its time.

@@jbmettrickTell me where the Bible says we can't believe in the gospel by ourselves. It would be very stupid for God to command the gospel to be preached to creatures who cannot believe. God predestines those who He knew before the foundation would believe in Him. He takes into account the human response. That's a loving God. Very different to your twisted Romans 8:29. In which your loving "god" choses the vast majority of humans to destroy them in hell without any opportunity of salvation.

@@elsamusoy We are naturally "dead in trespasses and sins" (Ephesians 2). Question: What can a dead man do? Jesus says in John 3, that we must be born again "from above". How can you born yourself? The picture of birth couldn't be more clear, that you can nothing do by yourself to get saved! Why? Because you have naturally an evil heart! You cannot believe, as long God doesn't take out from you the heart of stone and give you a hart of flesh! Scripture compares the process of being born again ("effectual calling") with the creation of the world! Salvation is of God only. Calvinism is nothing than a nickname for the true Gospel.

@@Blackjamie80 so I guess the apostle Paul was a reductionist as well since he expressed the fundamentals of the gospel as: repentance and faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), and for that matter the apostle Peter and others who were even more "reductionist" several times in the book of Acts. John MacArthur has proclaimed the full counsel of God for 50+ years, love and passion not excepted. A preacher's faithfulness does not depend on how charismatic his personality is, but on how faithful he is to the truth. JM has been a faithful pastor for decades and God has used him in incredible ways for his glory. Your attitude is prideful and divisive brother. Give honor where honor is due.

This is a very incomplete Gospel... not once is the BLOOD of Jesus mentioned. It is by FAITH in the perfect Blood of Jesus shed to satisfy the wrath of God that one is saved. The Gospel is not just the truth of the wrath of God upon us and the truth of the person and work of Jesus Christ... THE Command and Call of the Gospel is to BELIEVE, and this Saving Faith is not to believe the Truth, but to place one's trust and hope in Jesus - in the BLOOD of Jesus. At 4:18, a different Gospel command is given... "ask, plead with God to be reconciled to Him"... that is VERY UNBIBLICAL. This is a different Gospel than declared in the Bible. WHERE does the Bible say that YOU need to "ask, plead with God to be reconciled to Him"? We ARE reconciled to God through the Blood of Jesus, and we are COMMANDED to be believing in Jesus' death, His blood shed, to satisfy God's wrath against us.

If your issue is with limited atonement, which is the case 99% of time for you arminians, then please explain how your position doesn't lead into the heresy of universalism? Ultimately God saves, it is God's gospel. The Person and work of Jesus Christ is the gospel, our job is simply to tell the world about that truth and invite them to repent and trust in Christ, however, God chooses and only He saves.

@@thegodpicture So basically you are saying that Christ makes a random people "savable" and it is their decision to accept this? Think about this, in the beginning of Matthew, why is Jesus Christ called "Jesus", "for He shall save His people from their sins", meaning that He already knows who they are, it's not a random bunch that suddenly appear in heaven. God uses means to accomplish His ends, everyone who believes in Christ (the true Christ in Scripture) for salvation is going to heaven, whether arminian, molonist or calvinist. However what I am pointing out is that arminianism (taken to its extreme) can lead to great heresies such as a denial of original sin or a denial of penal substitutionary atonement. Ironically arminians often are the ones, like you, to call others "wolfs" or heretics without any backing.

That’s the worst explanation of the gospel I have ever heard. What this man is preaching is not the gospel anyone can quote “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭KJV‬‬ But if they deliver that message without context without audience and cultural relevance it will fall of deaths ears and the one preaching mind come to relieve he’s not preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ but a version of it he himself has cobbled together.
