The man was a very special Artist! Saw him many times throughout the the 70s/80s/90s !!, he was a troubled man, his own personal Demons, but his music and talent is just Sublime!! If you're enjoying John you must check out 'Roy Harper ' another incredible British singer/musician/poet, Britain's 'Bob Dylan ' a man who preached social change and revolution, in a peaceful way!! Caught them both at 'Glastonbury Festival ' late 70s, same gig, back then it was still a tiny free event!!... They could both conjured up 'Sonic Storms ' that just blew you away!!....

Discovered John Martyn from his appearances on the Transatlantic Sessions shows.. It was a gathering of Celtic, Bluegrass, Folk, Country musicians and singers.. Probably some of the greatest music ever put to video!!! You guys should checkout some Transatlantic Sessions, very few reactors have covered it.. ❤

You will never go wrong with John Martyn. Please do May you never … John lived in Kilkenny in Ireland the latter part of his life. Brilliant brilliant musician.

Good to see you continuing your John Martyn journey. So many great songs: Solid Air, Bless The Weather, Hurt in Your Heart, Couldn't Love You More, Go Down Easy, May You Never, Don't Want To Know, SweeT Little Mystery, Ballad Of an Elder Woman, Head And Heart, Man In The Station are all worthy of your time in my opinion.

Not that it matters but im very proud that he is from the same part of Scotland as myself but he lived all over the UK and loved many many different types of music - his seminal album "Solid air" showcases many genres - ❤❤❤ your channel😊

Nice to see more JM. You should check out his “Live in Dublin” concert. It’s about 1hr long and is here on youtube. It’s just him and Danny Thompson on double bass. Even if you don’t react to it you should definitely watch it.

Great if troubled artist, I loved his early work with Beverley Martyn particularly the track John the Baptist, also go out and get it and traffic light lady, which are mainly songs lead by John rather than Beverley.

There's another realy good version of this song with john and danny thompson at the transatlantic sessions that in my opinion is the best recorded version of spencer the rover . Not nocking this version at all as it is incredibly well done as well
