I think this is off the France or Indie version of "Room For Squares" or something. It's pretty good. The ending is unexpected though haha.

This is by far the most complex song I’ve ever heard I cannot find a decent cover ... Only HE can go up and down with his voice in such a spectacular manner I didn’t know how good he was until I searched for 2,5 hours for a cover and failed to find one ... his voice here is unreal

That is one of the most crisp guitar sounds ive ever heard mayer produce.....one of the few who can play a song very crisp, yet silky smooth and mistake free.....and to top it off at the end he says mother fuc*** yeah and the world is a peace.

this is my favorite john mayer song, for the meaning, the memory of the first time i heard it and because i love the intro on the CD witht he drums..... but really, i go back to that girl so often, i see her this weekend as a matter of fact, so cheers for real with this one!

but well the reason I decided to log in the first place... this song is awesome in acoustic, I had never heard of this version until recently, is so badass sounding, ive been trying to get it but as with all of john songs, its freaking hard, even trying to come up with the chords is hard seeing him play, imagine without seeing his hands...

I used to go to HUdson Valley Commmunity Collge in Troy, NY and lived in a Dorm/Apt "morrison Manor"... I was one of about 5 white kids that lived in this 200+ student housing.. i was just learning guitar and my Neighbor , this bad ass Black dude from Newark would hear me play that opening riff and said "Thats my intro music, Whenever you hear me walking down the hall. play that shit"

i got a 2 disk cd of "room for squares" from the local library, and the "acoustic" version on disk #2 was a little different. the drums & bass guitar were still there, but the electric guitar was replaced by the acoustic guitar. played the exact same tab, though. disk #2's tracklist was as such: 1. epk. - an intimate session with john mayer 2. back to you (acoustic) 3. no such thing (acoustic) 4. lenny (stevie ray vaughan cover) (live) 5. the wind cries mary (jimi hendrix cover) (live)

In their defence, Oasis and Ocean Colour Scene have tunes which are recorded in teh studio with applause and crowd noises dubbed on, its quite a cool effect actually. But yeah, this is live: you can hear its recording the vocals coming out of speakers... And this tune is a TUNE. top notch! :D

Dan Deleon thanks for your kind comments, I know the sound quality is not great that is because all the songs on this channel were recorded on an iPhone at live gigs / open mics. This is effected by the quality of the hosts equipment, the noises from the crowds and the limits of the iPhone recording ability, That does not make for brilliant recordings but it does show Josh’s ability to produce a watchable performance dispute the difficulties. Can I point you to Josh’s other KZfaq channel which is more dedicated to his home recordings and produce a better sound quality. Please have a look kzfaq.info

Basically, the cliche is "its the least you could do", but he is playing with that cliche by making it explicit to the situation, since she didnt smile. So "the least you could not do" is the thing he wanted her to do: but she didnt do it. Make sense? :)

Just search on Google: "John Mayer Back to You acoustic tab" You will see a lot of results. Do click on the header with says "BACK TO YOU by John Mayer" from the Ultimate-Guitar page. The author of the tab is one guy called "zpeed" and the last modification of the tab was on December 5, 2016. I tell you this, 'cause probably you will find more tabs of Back to You linked to the website when you search "John Mayer Back to You acoustic tab" on Google. I don't know where are you from, but in here Spain I can access this website "Ultimate-Guitar" with no problems. Cheers
