British politics is in disarray.
Trust in the people who represent us has never been so low. Many don’t even know who their MP is.
Oli Dugmore has been travelling the country, meeting politicians outside Westminster - getting under their skin, finding out what motivates them and how they’re going to fix the problems we are all facing.
John McDonnell is the Labour MP for Hayes and Harlington and the shadow chancellor of the exchequer. He met Oli in his constituency office for a cup of tea.

John McDonnell is one of the finest politicians this country has ever known. If we'd had a free press in this country, rather than propaganda machines owned and controlled by foreign and non-domiciled billionaire Tory donors, he'd have been in government decades ago, and this country would be a far better off for it.

@@davidwhiting5630 No. In my subjective experience and looking through the prism of the socio-economic impact of their policies, that award belongs to Margaret Thatcher, David Cameron or Theresa May. War criminal Tony Blair would also be in the running, but he's slightly redeemed on account of his better domestic policies and commendable efforts in bringing peace to Ireland.

@@btothet3377 No, I meant another John McDonnell. My mistake . Seriously- what a fucking prat you are. Another Tory rent boy with the blood of your compatriots on your hands- not least 22 victims of one of Cameron's 40,000 "moderate" rebels in Manchester. How about you take a long walk off a short pier and make the world a better place?

Ill informed bigotted comments so far, in the main. Read the manifesto. Have a think. Take the blinkers off.

@TheRenaissanceman65 Sorry but that's a dishonest reply. You either didn't read the manfesto or didn't read it very well. 7 pages on Brexit. Further: you are doubtless aware of the conference descision: linked here labourlist.org/2018/09/labours-brexit-composite-motion-in-full/ Politics is not a game. To repeat: be rational; take the blinkers off. Start actually observing and thinking rather than suffering from your own endless loop of inner propaganda. Especially please stop trying to infect others.
@mjc01

@TheRenaissanceman65 So you read it and somehow missed the 7 pages on Brexit? Notice you don't mention the conference resolution. Please don't reply.
@mjc01
@mjc01 5 жыл бұрын
@TheRenaissanceman65 You are mistaken but that may be because you didn't look. Not that it's hard to do so. In Google search box I've just entered: "labour party manifesto 2017" the FIRST item returned is this: labour.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/labour-manifesto-2017.pdf. A long PDF document. With, as I said, 7 pages on Brexit. By the way I voted remain. I am also a member of the party. They're now backing a second referendum, at huge electoral risk given our first past the post system. We are probably going to get Brexit. Do you honestly want the Tories in charge of it? This time I will not reply again.

@TheRenaissanceman65 Congratulations on coercing a response by implying the other person is lying. The chapter on Brexit starts on page 23 and ends on page 32 but because it includes images and partially blank pages it comes something between 6 and 7 pages. It comprise a main section NEGOTIATING BREXIT (page 24) and two minor sections: IMMIGRATION (page 28) and INTERNATIONAL TRADE (page 30). There will be no-one else reading this tediuos discussion. Look here for genuine and intelligent debate on politics and economics: www.youtube.com:/watch?v=LLDXNSg0Jd4&t=1622s&index=3&list=PL9f7WaXxDSUqO6vA8-xNZItmrD6j0Rcph Now it may be that you are simply a very anxious person and therefore have a tendency to jump to conclusions. If so I am sorry to have added further to your troubles. Otherwise do please STFU!

Granted, a slim majority voted in favor of Brexit. Do you honestly believe everyone who leave wants a no-deal brexit? Or even nearly enough people in general to command a majority? To hell with your petition let's have a new referendum and see where we stand now.

Labour must keep corbyn as leader it has taken years for him to get labour where it is today , He must be allowed to stay till he's finished the job. He is so near now . Labour has been in opposition far to long a job that the conservatives should hold and Nigel and the brexit party in government .
