In Syria, over half a million have died in civil war; in Iraq, hundreds of thousands in sectarian violence; and Yemen suffers devastating conflict. Discrimination is rampant in many Middle Eastern countries, where Palestinians and minorities face severe restrictions. In contrast, Israeli Arabs enjoy rights and freedoms unimaginable elsewhere in the region.
