John Hennigan talks about Christopher Benoit.
interview by MOONSAULT.de (Kevin Scheuren) • MOONSAULT.de Interview...
Chris Benoit was one of the absolute best and most respected wrestlers in the business and for good reasons and he's generally said to have been one of the nicest people in the world when he was alive, tons of wrestlers told stories on how Benoit would call them after they got released or had an injury or a surgery, way more than any person in wrestling would. Chris Benoit, when alive, was one of the most caring wrestlers ever, personal demons, concussions, a lot of his friends dying and other things we can only speculate about ruined him. Chris Benoit still is arguably the best technical wrestler of all time, a lof of the stuff he did in the ring are some of the most amazing things that have ever been done and he also was very muscular and extremely intense.

To hear John Morrison on the time He replaced Chris Benoit for his world title match it sounds like it’s hard for him to acknowledge that moment cause he could tell still there is a dark cloud around it due to learning of what happened at first it was everyone tearing up due to Chris and his family being nice to the public and after learning what might have happened t makes it shocking and confusing to explain to this day

You can tell how hard it is for John to talk about him. I know how he feels when he says it's hard to watch Chris. I think it pretty much feels like that for everyone that remembers watching the news when it broke and then hearing about what happened on those tragic days. It's really sad because the end of WM 20 was once considered the greatest ending to any PPV ever, and now it's so hard to watch without crying. It's not happy tears like it was when that moment first happened either. Knowing he and Eddie aren't with us anymore (and the reasons why) makes it almost impossible to see let alone sit through.

I agree to a point. I can still watch Chris's matches and enjoy them, because, imo, something broke in Chris, his mind fell apart, mental illness and all the things going on around him caused him to act horrificly, and I think he killed himself because he hated himself for what he'd done. It's all sad. But when I look at matches before I get to see the man he was before, and from all accounts, THAT man was a good one who everyone loved, so I feel no guilt about enjoying his work. He wasn't always the thing he became. But I know its harder for other people. It was such a big part of my childhood though, Eddie was my #1 fav growing up and Chris was my #2. It'd be harder for me to not watch any of their matches.

Man that had to be very hard on John Morrison. I don't blame him at all. I was a big fan of Chris Benoit as a child. I watched him win the United States Title on 3 separate occasions during what would turn out to be his last 3 years of his life. I was lucky to watch him make Triple H tap out in the middle of the ring to win the World Heavyweight Title at MSG in the main event of WM XX. That was one of the greatest moments in WWE History. Not so many wrestlers in WWE can say that they made Triple H tap out in the middle of the ring. It was on that night where Chris Benoit became a legend. But back to my point, it's hard on all of us who knew him. I'm not saying that I knew him in his personal life. But for the people who knew either in the ring or in his personal life. I know even though he'll never be inducted into the WWE HOF, he'll always be remembered for the contributions & stuff that he made in the ring. For putting his body on the line every night for our entertainment. If anyone has little kids that don't know who Chris Benoit was, let them watch him take on Triple H & Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XX in a Triple Threat match for the World Heavyweight Title. I know that's the match I will put on with my kids one day if they wanna know who Chris Benoit was.

Thomas Muller I agree. Because of regardless of what happened with Benoit and his family, you cannot erase somebody from history all because of an accidental double-murder caused by concussion-related symptoms. Sure it was a horrible thing, but this is what happens when people get concussions nonstop! Look what happened to poor Chris Benoit! Look what happened to poor Nancy and Daniel! Nancy and Daniel didn't deserve to get killed and Chris himself didn't deserve to kill Nancy and Daniel, either! Personally, in my opinion, I blame that racist, political, hypocritical, judgmental scumbag Vince McMahon, WWE and other wrestling companies for paying Chris Benoit and the other wrestlers for taking drugs and for getting hit in the head so much! It's no wonder drug and concussion-related tragedies happen and it's no wonder why Chris Benoit cannot be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame!

Everyone has to come to their own conclusion and deal with it as they see fit. But pretending Chris Benoit didn't exist and blotting him out of the history books as if he never made sense isn't right either. He is part of wrestling history rather we like it or not. His contributions to the history of professional wrestling are there rather we want to pretend that they aren't or not.

A couple of fanholes say- he's a double murderer (please conveniently ignore he himself died, after all a man's life = what value?) Now, you're free to trust any one of these groups. Whom will you logically trust? Whom will you actually trust? We live in a world where cancer patient gets sympathy and mental patient gets hatred. Don't expect logic to prevail.

Even though none of us knows what happened that weekend. But If he did do it, most likely it was a violent episode of CTE considering his brain looked like a 80+ year old alzheimers patient.

not hard for me to watch a Benoit match at all. I press the play button and enjoy some quality wrestling for the length of his match. Benoit puts on one hell of a match usually. as for what he allegedly did well, it wasn't proven in a court of law, he hasn't faced his accusers and had no jury trial so until they are able to raise him from the dead and give him due process of law there will always for me be a shadow of a doubt if he did it or not. also what someone does in their private life doesn't take away from what they did in the ring. #BenoitWasGreatWrestler

@chiefzackery6651 3 жыл бұрын
Actually, that’s not true, you definitely can mark someone in the court of law... The police report says this tragedy was a double-murder-suicide... Benoit is not here to plead to the charges... Do you not think... for one second that Daniel Benoit, Benoit’s parents, Chris’s X-wife, or the WWE would not have paid lawyers and detectives to clear Benoit’s name? Chris Benoit almost put WWE out of business, many wrestlers had to beg Congress not to ban it... Watch the dark side of the ring, it reveals stuff that removes any doubt. An example, Chris googled a week before Nancy’s death how to break a neck quickly... Chris is legally a murderer, Nancy and Daniels murder cases are CLOSED. If a man is dead and convicted of murder, next of kin can step up in their defense as the conviction could cause issues with the estate, ever wonder why nobody did?

chris benoit once said hitler was the most influential man in history... he wasnt wrong. he wasnt saying it to be a bigot or anti semitic. he simply was right. everything that is political or international affairs today is in one way or another related to ww2. whether it be our trouble with the middle east or the nuclear threat it all started back in ww2.

all i know is that chris loved his kid he'd never abuse that kid if you look at the picture of chris and daniel he loved him i have a theory that nancy accidentally killed daniel and then when chris came home he had a argument and resulted in him killing nancy then when he realized that he killed her he was to emotinal and probably didnt want to go to jail so he killed himself....

@@cadenbooker8842 Dude, get over your conspiracy theories. Chris Benoit killed BOTH Nancy and Daniel. It wasn’t Nancy, Kevin Sullivan or any random wrestler you Chris apologists think. The evidence says it all, the diving headbutts, steroid abuse, chair shots to the head, the domestic abuse Chris brought to Nancy, concussions and death of his best friend, Eddie Guerrero which made him broken and very depressed.
