I was lucky enough to work with John when building my 300-221. I am no one and he took his time to help me and make sure it was done right and tell me that I was into an area that no one he knew was experimenting. It is upsetting to think he is gone.

I bought my first AR-15 second hand in 2011. A Noveske 14.5" N4 Light Carbine (basic model) that is still my favorite and most treasured gun. It's had a few minor cosmetic upgrades, and improved trigger, and now sports a pinned AAC brakeout and 556SD. It's my goto HD rifle and stays in my office with me at all times. RIP John.

My first personally owned AR was a Noveske prior to his passing. I always followed him because I thought he was one of the builders that put out a quality product and if it didn't make him happy, he wasn't putting out there.

We were one of his first civilian customers. He custom tailored his 21" 7.62 barrel for us that would fit our surefire suppressor and that AR-10 we have is still the most accurate semi-auto we have. I sent him an email which he replied to telling him how great it worked. RIP.

Thank you for posting this video. What a great and very humble man he was. A true asset to the firearms community. I have several AR’s, KAC, LMT, LWRCI, Barrett and of course a Noveske. All of them are excellent AR’s and very accurate weapons. My Noveske is in good company and accuracy is on par or better than the others. RIP John.

I assembled my own AR in my garage. I bought part kits and bought a Noveske lower receiver because I loved the emblem. It's pretty decked out now with a nice scope that shoots 800 yds. I wear Noveske shirts all the time while making crafts on Facebook lives! Lol

John Noveske's work speaks for itself. It is unthinkable that anyone would refute that fact. Losing this man not only because he raised the bar when it comes to extremely high end AR-15/AR-10 parts but also because of his activism in the gun rights community has been a huge blow to us all. Mr. Noveske is sorely missed not only by those that had the very fortunate chance to know him but also by the people like me who never even knew him and just appreciated his work and everything else he did for the community. I sincerely hope that Noveske Rifleworks never stops producing product because they are one of my go-to brands for AR parts. Regardless of the controversy surrounding his tragic death, the fact of the matter is that all of us in the community, let alone his family and friends, lost someone who was truly an asset to the AR-15/AR-10/ or any other firearm owning, producing, and retail community. At the time of this post, it has been 4 years and 9 months since his untimely death on January 3rd, 2013 and we have yet to have a definitive answer regarding his mysterious death. I tend not to be a conspiracy theorist but even the most rational person can find oddities regarding the way in which his death occurred. I would honestly love to think it wasn't a planned and intentional murder but it seems that we are unable to not only trust our Federal Government but also our individual State Governments as well. In a country founded on the notion of a government, "For the people, by the people," it is a shame that it has changed to the current notion of, "For the rich/wealthy/elite, by the rich/wealthy/elite" and "For the liberal, by the liberal." All of us who believe in supporting our 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms band together and do whatever is within your capacity to do. I would ask ALL Illinois Residents to contact their local Representative in Springfield to express opposition to the legislation regarding radical changes to Gun Laws. That is, if you do in fact oppose this new law being discussed in mid to late October, 2017. If we who oppose this law do not make it known to our local Representative where we stand on this proposed legislation then it may very well be passed. We can all agree what happened in Vegas was a tragedy on a MASSIVE scale and that is not to be diminished in any way shape or form. Yet, the fact is that people kill people not guns. Guns are just the tool this evil man chose to use. He could have killed over 10-15 people with a knife with the crowds being as they were. He could have even planted multiple explosives around the concert venue but with the current state of awareness on such activities I am sure that likely be extremely challenging to do, or at least I hope it would be. Even if all the Vegas shooter had access to was semi-automatic rifles or even bolt-action rifles he still would have inflicted major casualties and injuries to dozens of people had he trained properly to do so. To do what he did and inflict the damage that he did it is obvious he trained quite a bit with the weapons he used. He even went so far as to put cameras outside his room looking down the hallway so he would be aware of any law enforcement personnel approaching his room. It is plain and simple this evil man wanted to kill/injure as many people as he could and would use any means necessary to do so. He is a criminal, morally skewed, and mentally ill. That is clear because of what he did recently in Vegas. So, even if laws pass that end up further restricting what we can possess, purchase, and sell does not stop criminals from obtaining illegal firearms with full-auto capabilities. This is already proven many times over. In simplest terms, this argument goes back to the saying, "When there is a will, there is a way." Again, I am not trying to diminish in ANY way whatsoever what happened in Las Vegas but just because a heinous and massive tragedy took place we should not make ill thought out reactionary moves to combat tragedies like what happened in Las Vegas in the future. I for one support some type of legislation and reforms to be made but not the extreme measures taken currently. Especially, this goes for Illinois where we are currently fighting a bill that would further restrict gun laws in one of the states with the most strict gun laws already in place. Personally (and this is my own opinion and I am not looking to argue with others), believe fully automatic conversion kits should be removed from the market place in all of the USA. Also, I believe more thorough and strict background checks should be done when one goes to purchase a firearm. Something must be done and this has been made apparent by the Las Vegas tragedy but what is being done in Illinois at the moment is not the answer. For one, look at Chicago. Chicago has very strict handgun and other firearm laws in place, and yet the murder rate among people of poverty or any other income level has sky rocketed. The strict laws enacted in Chicago has not impacted the ability for criminals and those who are going to commit criminal acts to acquire firearms because they obtain them illegally anyway. I have one more point concerning Las Vegas, there are ALWAYS indicators that a person is planning something but those in the FBI, ATF, or any other law enforcement agencies failed to recognize these indicators and/or act upon them appropriately to avert this disaster. Finally, guns don't kill people. It is people who kill people. Plain and simple. if you've read this far thank you for reading this since it is insanely long. I've never bought a Noveske (I usually assemble my own ARs) but after watching this video I'm more likely to get one. He clearly doesn't like talking about himself, especially on camera, and I'm the same way. Striking out of your own is the perfect solution for such a person, because interviews are murder, lol! i know its inappropriate to say. But I honestly believe John Noveske died under very mysterious circumstances. Not to mention other prominent 2A colleagues all died in a month of 2013. Before his death. He asked the question of the latest school shooting what drugs was he on. I also cant find any photos or reports on Noveske's death. Nothing. You can find it easily with other 2A community members but not John Noveske. Also he's a very experienced driver and hiker. Dude wouldnt be slackin in such dry conditions.

Noveske has gone down hill since John Noveske died, IMHO. I just got a Noveske barrel and bolt (was not cheap either) and the Noveske bolt would not pass a 223 or 5.56 Go gauge with their bolt, or another bolt I had. A highly experienced gunsmith I know also has been seeing headspace issues with Noveske barrels as of late.
