What God did was to [Beget] Jesus, that is, separate Jesus from Himself so that Jesus could come to earth to pay our penalty, therefore saving us. @Talia Young You are right - God The Father was "perfectly content" with His Son in heaven. You are also right in that God did not [have to] send Jesus to earth - He [chose] to do that as we were unable to save ourselves - only Jesus' coming could do that.

In terms of the new covenant in NT, we are justified before God because of the perfect sacrifice of Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ was the only one able to satisfy God’s divine wraith.

In that case if you have the love of God in your heart I think you should get down on your knees and ask God to save your neighbor and his children instead of you. Election is biblical but it is always related to God electing some thing or person for his purpose. Jesus was the elect one does that mean God chose to save him instead of damn him? Look up all of the verses in the old and new testament and you will find they all have to do with being chosen or elect for some purpose it has nothing to do with God choosing to save or damn anyone. But if you love the idea that God desires to damn most people for his glory then have at it. Do you hope most of your family were chosen, maybe God doesn't want all of them.
