What a tremendous performer and songwriter this man is. In a world full of talentless clowns coupled with huge egos I'm so glad to be sharing the planet with a human being like this!

This is beautifully simplistic, real, honest amd completely compelling. Praise God for this expression of heart ache reaching out fearlessly hope. Turn to Jesus amd grasp eternity for good.

John Prine rocks. Give me my daily dose of John Prine. Saw him live in concert a few times in SoCal. Hope he is still singing and recording for the next 20-thirty years.

I haven't listened to so much John Prine in my whole life since this whole Corvid thing kicked off. Great to hear this with such great sound quality. Thanks.

Just got done reading J. Cash auto biography, in which he said that when he was alone and looking for inspiration, he would listen to john Prine. Fantastic upload, thank you.

John Prine even changed a line in "Sam Stone" for Johnny Cash to sing it. What a big an humble man. Miss them both.

First heard Sam Stone on US forces radio Europe, went in to Glasgow to buy it, guy in the record shop had never heard of John Prine, tried to convince me it must have been Charlie Pride😂 Been a fan since the early 70's

Seems like an understandable reason to listen to John Prine. I've been there. I haven't written any songs as a result, but I just may have got some collard greens and red beets in the ground that much sooner, maybe a few other gifts too. I simply count myself lucky to have his music. The story at the end of this video is entertaining.

He doesn't have a lot of commercial success. He is without question highly respected for his song writing and music. Iris may have gone more than a decade between albums. She too is highly respected. I believe she is married to Greg Brown who is another tremendous song writer.

T. S. Eliot was a fraud. He was an editor at the publishing firm that published his poetry -- that being an ethical conflict of interest. Eliot renounced his US citizenship in order to become a British citizen -- height of arrogance.

Who do John and Iris not get more exposure? Does it have to do with their actually being able to make music?
@pattivanlandingham2951 Жыл бұрын
I think because they are not considered Nashville-type country--more Americana (which to me means singer/songwriters with better songs, not following the traditional country line.

john prine is real and we can actually understand his words when he sings...bob dylan just mumbles...you figure it out !!! compare a huge ego and 500 million dollars to maybe 10 million dollars and just a nice easy goin guy whom is confident of his craft etc etc....john turns me on more than Bobby Dylan does...neil young`s older acoustic songs are great too...Bob...open your mouth and actually sing and say the words...you`re going from great to mediocre to bad to just bad news....
