Love this. This is what I use in my playing and it makes fast swing so much easier. His books are amazing as well.

This is a timeless lesson

I think the hardest bit with this technique is the catching motion. I find it hard to get an even flow and same power in the catching stroke than the others. Great video btw. Everybody that haven't got his book Art of Bop drumming, should really go out and buy it. It has helped me a lot with my jazz drumming.

I'm going to learn how to play at this speed if it kill me.

this will help getting the speed up on the ride. I'm a beginner in playing jazz. It looks like this exercise will also help with my ride playing tempo in general. I learn so much from watching your videos. Have you got a DVD out teaching beginning jazz? I know about your book and c.d. It's just the way I learn is more visual.
